Houma Christian sweeps Berwick

Houma Christian swept Berwick High School 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-22) in prep volleyball action in Berwick Tuesday.
Mary Jordan Melancon and Sydney Aucoin led Berwick in the nondistrict contest. Melancon had two kills, eight assists, one ace, 12 digs and one solo block, while Aucoin totaled 10 kills and four digs. Other top contributors included Brittany Roberie, 17 digs; Emma Hover, 13 digs; Abbie Dugas, three assists, one ace and seven digs; Jordan Lipari, one kill, one assist, two aces and six digs; Morgan Toups, three kills, three digs and two solo blocks; Roslyn Gros, eight digs; and Lauren Skinner, four kills, one dig and one solo block.
Tuesday’s game was the Lady Panthers’ Senior Night.
Berwick (13-18) will conclude its regular season at Episcopal School of Acadiana’s Spooktacular, which begins Thursday and concludes Saturday.
Patterson falls in
five games
The Patterson Lumberjills dropped a five-set decision at David Thibodaux in the Lumberjills’ District 2-IV finale Tuesday.
Patterson dropped the first game 25-14 before winning the second and third games by scores of 26-24 and 25-18, respectively. However, David Thibodaux rebounded with wins in games’ four and five by scores of 25-23 and 15-11, respectively.
No individual statistics were available for Patterson.
Patterson (6-17 overall, 3-5 in district) will conclude its regular season today with a nondistrict contest at Franklin.
