The Bayou Horseshoe Pitchers Association held its St. Jude's Fall Horseshoe Tournament Aug. 27 at Kemper Williams Park near Patterson. Class A winners were, from left, Tim Gilmore of Bayou Vista, first place; Bill Seither of Buras, second place; and
Ricky Richard of Church Point, third place. Gilmore was named tournament champion after finishing with a 5-0 mark. He had a ringer percentage of 51. Class A winners at the Louisiana State Doubles Horseshoe Tournament in Shreveport were, from left, third place winners Alois Habetz of Sulphur and Ricky Richard; second place, Greg Ellis and Jack Caudle, both of Shreveport; and first place, Al Dodson of Morgan City and Dudley Michel of Bayou Vista. Dodson and Michel finished
with a 5-1 mark and a ringer percentage of 39.44, while Ellis/Caudle finished 4-2 with a ringer percntage of 40. Habetz/Richard finished 3-2 with a ringer percentage of 37. Dodson/Michel won the title after defeating Ellis/Caudle in a 60-shoe playoff after the teams finished regulation tied. The event was held Aug. 13 at Moose Lodge.
