A big fourth inning upended Berwick’s playoff hopes Thursday in a 9-6 first-round loss at Jena.
Berwick’s baseball team is concentrating on batting fundamentals this week in preparation for its 5:30 p.m. playoff game Thursday against Jena. In earlier season action, senior Neal Theriot (above) gets a hit.

Berwick’s baseball team is looking to get that old Panthers’ swagger back in Thursday’s first-round playoff game at Jena.
Berwick and Central Catholic have mixed reviews in the opening rounds of the state tournament in Monroe. The tournament was delayed three hours April 27 because of inclement weather.
The Morgan City High School Tigers were defeated by Vandebilt Catholic 11-5 in prep baseball play Wednesday at Tiger Diamond. Marquise Charles attempts to get a hit during game action. The Tigers are in action against Assumption in Napoleonville today with the game scheduled for 4 p.m., weather permitting.

Central Catholic continued its winning ways beating Ascension Catholic, 4-1, in District 7-1A play Wednesday in Amelia.
Berwick’s Shannon Theriot is tagged out in her attempt at stealing second base during Berwick’s loss to E.D. White during playoff action April 21.
