Brittany's Project swamp meet Saturday in Franklin

A “Swap Meet” is set Saturday in support of Brittany’s Project.
The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 2817 La. 87, Franklin, near the Oaklawn Bridge over Bayou Teche.
There will be a “Car Corral,” tractors, hunting and fishing gear, crafts, jewelry, clothing, knick-knacks and more. Items will be for sale by private parties and vendors.
Spaces of 10 by 30 feet are available for $10.
Free, self-contained camping is available.

Brittany’s Project is a nonprofit organization started by Franklin residents Bruce and Sandra Saucier, parents of Brittany Saucier, 25, who has Down syndrome. The project is raising funds for a facility for individuals with disabilities offering a social network with recreation, summer camps, support and educational workshops. Fundraising efforts for the project began March 2011.
