MC, SMC drop openers at Louisiana Dixie Youth 2015 AA State Tournament

Morgan City and St. Mary Central dropped their openers at the Louisiana Dixie Youth 2015 AA State Tournament in Vidalia Thursday.
Morgan City dropped a heart breaker with a 1-0 loss to West Monroe in which West Monroe scored the winning run in their last at bat in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Meanwhile, St. Mary Central fell 10-0 to Minden.
No stats were available from St. Mary Central’s contest.
St. Mary Central and Morgan City each will play three games today in pool play and at least one more Saturday.
St. Mary faced Pineville Nationals at 9 a.m. and the third-place winner from District 5 at 12:45 p.m. today.
They will conclude the day’s action with a 4:30 p.m. contest against DeRidder.
On Saturday, St. Mary Central will face Moss Bluff Nationals at 12:45 p.m.
Morgan City faced Benton at 9 a.m. today and Westlake at 12:45 p.m.
Morgan City’s Friday action concludes with a 4:30 p.m. contest against Alexandria Americans.
On Saturday, Morgan City will face the Alexandria Nationals at 12:45 p.m.
After pool play end early Saturday afternoon, the top teams from each bracket will advance to bracket play that will begin Saturday evening before concluding Sunday when a state champion will be crowned.
