Patterson jumped five spots to lead area teams in the latest power rankings released by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association Tuesday.
Two of four Tri-City area football teams were victorious in Week 8 as Central Catholic and Patterson picked up district victories.

The Berwick High School Lady Panthers defeated the Patterson Lumberjills 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-10) in District 6-III action Thursday.
As a team, Berwick had eight aces and four blocks.
Central Catholic High School defeated Houma Christian 3-2 (25-14, 25-13, 19-25,

Central Catholic High School will return to action Thursday when it hosts Lafayette
