BHPA records several top 3 finishes at singles championships

Several members of the Bayou Horseshoe Pitchers Association placed at the Louisiana State Singles Horseshoe Pitching Championships at Moose Lodge in Shreveport Saturday and Sunday.
Tim Gilmore of Bayou Vista won first-place in the Class A Elders men’s competition, while Burnie Williams of Morgan City took first placed in Class B Men’s competition
Linda Dodson of Morgan City placed third in Class A women’s competition.
Gilmore finished 5-0 with a ringer percentage of 59, while Williams won a 40-shoe playoff with second-place finisher A.J. Duplantier of Harahan after both finished tied following regulation. Williams finished 5-1 with a ringer percentage of 24.5.
Dodson finished third in Class A Women’s competition with a 3-2 mark and a 42.5 ringer percentage.
Below are the complete results:
Men
Class A — first place (class and tournament champion), Ricky Richard, Church Point, 5-0, 56.0 ringer percentage; second place, Charles Savoy, Jennings, 4-1, 34.5; and third place, Edward Jolley, Monroe, 3-2, 36.0.
Class A Elders — first, Tim Gilmore, Bayou Vista, 5-0, 59.0; second, Doug McDaniel, Shreveport, 4-1, 45.5; and third, Jack Caudle, Shreveport, 3-2, 42.5.
Class B — first (class champion), Burnie Williams, Morgan City, 5-1, 24.5; second, A.J. Duplantier, Harahan, 4-2, 22.9; and third, Larry Pertuit, Marrero, 3-2, 21.5.
Due to a tie after regulation play, Williams defeated Duplantier in a 40-shoe playoff game.
Class C — first (class champion), Steve Rotach, Minden, 5-1, 20.0; second, J.R. Morse, Shreveport, 4-2, 22.0; and third, Artie McMullen, Monroe, 3-2, 23.5.
Due to a tie after regulation play, Rotach defeated Morse in a 40-shoe playoff game.
Class D — first (class champion), Greg Smith, Lake Charles, 5-1, 16.2; second, Darron Adams, Shreveport, 4-2, 10.8; and third, Ron Smith, Lake Charles, 3-2, 14.5.
Due to a tie after regulation play, Smith defeated Adams in a 40-shoe playoff game.
Class E — first, Kyle Milam, Keithville, 5-0, 14.5; second, Robert Mayes, Shreveport, 4-1, 20.5; and third, Robert Kraus, Shreveport, 3-2, 7.0.
Women
Class A — first (class and tournament champion), Pat Pertuit, Marrero, 5-1, 55.0; second, Marie Stump Shreveport, 4-2, 44.1; and third, Linda Dodson, Morgan City, 3-2 42.5.
Due to a tie after regulation play, Pertuit defeated Stump in a 40-shoe playoff game.
Class B — first, Rhonda Smith, Lake Charles, 4-1, 39.0; second, Ronnie Ellis, Shreveport, 3-2, 36.0; and third, Nancy Woods, Monroe, 3-2, 38.0.
Class C — first, Belinda McClain, Stonewall, 5-0, 27.0; second, Cheryl Matt, Lake Charles, 3-2, 24.0; and third, Mabeth Johnson, Shreveport, 2-3, 21.0.
Class D — first, Erica Noblitt, Monroe, 5-0, 23.0; second, Gwen Pinnck, Gloster, 4-1, 17.5; and third, Lacey Buccola, Shreveport, 3-2, 19.0.
