Louisiana State Singles Horseshoe Pitching Championships

Tim Hayles of Berwick finished second in Class C in the Louisiana State Singles Horseshoe Pitching Championships on Sept. 24 in Welsh. Hayles finished with a 4-2 mark and a ringer percentage of 26.3. He fell in a 40-shoe playoff with first-place finisher Mack Thibodeaux of Lake Arthur. Thibodeaux finished 5-1 with a ringer percentage of 27.5. Above, in no particular order, are Thibodeaux, Hayles and third-place finisher Charles Savoy of Jennings. Hayles wasn't the only Berwick resident to excel at the event as Ryan Fryou of Berwick won Class B with a 5-0 mark and a ringer percentage of 28. BHPA records several top 3 finishes at singles championships

Several members of the Bayou Horseshoe Pitchers Association placed at the Louisiana State Singles Horseshoe Pitching Championships at Moose Lodge in Shreveport Saturday and Sunday.
