Members of the Morgan City 12-year-old All-Stars hoist their Louisiana Dixie Youth Majors South Regional runners-up trophy following a two game loss to Ville Platte Tuesday night. Morgan City was undefeated until the finals when the team dropped the first game 5-3 and the second game 8-3 in tournament play in Ponchatoula. Ville Platte moves on to face the north regional champion Winsboro at 6 p.m. Friday at the Johny Downs Sports Complex in Alexandria.

St. Mary Central 12-year-old All-Stars rallied to beat a scrappy Morgan City squad 8-6 in the winner-take-all District 3 championship game Monday.
