208 early votes cast in Oct. 19 election

A total of 208 ballots were cast in St. Mary Parish during absentee voting in advance of Saturday’s election, which includes four tax issues and one special election, according to Jolene Holcombe of the St. Mary Parish Registrar of Voters office.
In the Fifth Ward Special School District 1 bond proposition to issue $21 million general obligation bonds for 20 years, voters cast 148 votes. In the Wax Lake East Drainage District proposition of a tax renewal for a 3.2 mill property tax for 10 years, voters cast 110 votes.
Issues on the ballot are:
—Fifth Ward Special School District 1 - Bond Proposition (Issue $21 million general obligation bonds for 20 years). The election includes Precincts 24A, 25, 26, 27, 28, parts of 24 and 25A, 29 and 30 in Patterson and Bayou Vista. There are 5,945 registered voters eligible for this election.
—Wax Lake East Drainage District - Proposition (Tax Renewal - 3.2 mill property tax for 10 years). The election includes Precincts 31, 32, parts of 33, 34 and 25 in Berwick and Bayou Vista.
—Gravity Sub-Drainage District 1 of the Gravity Drainage District 2 - Proposition (Tax Renewal - 9.95 mills property tax for 10 years). The election includes Precinct 31 in Bayou Vista. There are 2,145 registered voters eligible for this election.
—Recreation District 1 - Proposition (Millage Renewal - 3 mill property tax for 10 years). The election includes parts of Precincts 46 and 47 in Siracusa and Amelia. Only 813 people are eligible to vote for this proposition. 
—Alderman, Town of Baldwin - Special Election. There are 1,506 registered voters for this election.
