Man, woman found nude in abandoned house

Morgan City police report a Morgan City man and woman were found nude in an abandoned house Sunday night.
Teligia M. Busby, 47, of Freret Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:41 p.m. Sunday for criminal mischief, Morgan City Chief Travis Crouch said.
Officers were sent to a residence in the 700 block of Fourth Street. When they arrived, they were told that two people were observed entering an abandoned house with a mattress. Officers then saw a male and female lying nude in the living room of the residence, Crouch said.
The couple was detained and allowed time to clothe themselves, he said. While speaking with them, the male fled from the side door of the residence and was unable to be captured. The female, Busby, remained jailed this morning with $492 bail set.
In other action, Travis Lee Gilmore, 21, of Arlington Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:17 p.m. Sunday for three counts each of resisting an officer and battery on an officer, careless operation with accident, no driver’s license on person, vehicle license required, failure to secure registration, expired motor vehicle inspection and unsafe vehicle.
An officer was dispatched to the 600 block of First Street for a traffic accident. Crouch said Gilmore could not provide a driver’s license, vehicle registration or license plate to the vehicle involved in the accident. The officer observed numerous violations regarding the vehicle. He then advised Gilmore that he was being placed under arrest for the violations and attempted to handcuff Gilmore who became belligerent, attacking and grabbing the officer, Crouch said.
Gilmore attempted to turn the officer’s weapon, putting the officer in further fear of great bodily injury, Crouch said. The responding officer was able to partially subdue Gilmore enough to contact other officers for assistance, he said. Other officers arrived and attempted to restrain him. Gilmore was able to grab hold of another officer’s uniform and attempt to head-butt that officer, he said.
Officers were able to subdue Gilmore with of a Taser. When they attempted to place Gilmore in the rear of a patrol unit, he kicked and spit at a third officer, Crouch said.
Gilmore was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was placed into a holding cell due to his combative nature until he could be processed. He remains jailed with $4,405.
Other Morgan City arrests reported are:
—Kenneth Evans, 34, of Mike Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 12:48 a.m. today for failure to pay fine for no driver license, a warrant for failure to pay fine for no insurance, careless operation, failure to report accident, operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license and resisting an officer. Officers were dispatched to the elevated portion of the U.S. 90 bridge to investigate a vehicle with damage and smoke coming from it. Officers found the vehicle blocking the lane of travel with damage and smoke emanating from the car. Evans was located walking in the area with minor injuries. At first he denied operating the vehicle, but a St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s deputy had passed the location and observed Evans behind the wheel of the vehicle prior to Morgan City Police Department arriving on the scene. Evans was found to be operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department, but, once there, he struck an officer and was additionally charged.
—Heather Banda, 36, of Seventh Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 6:55 p.m. Friday for disturbing the peace by fighting. Officers received a call about a fight between two females, one of which was a juvenile, at the intersection of Everett and Fifth streets. Both the juvenile and Banda were arrested. Banda remained jailed this morning with no bail set. The juvenile was released to a guardian.
—Breyden John Oncale, 20, of Onstead Street in Morgan City, was arrested 1:40 p.m. Saturday for careless operation of a moving vehicle, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of Schedule I controlled dangerous substance (synthetic marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers were called to investigate a vehicle being driven recklessly near Martin Luther King Boulevard in Morgan City. Oncale exhibited the signs of being under the influence and found to be in possession of both synthetic marijuana and a pipe used to smoke illegal narcotics. Oncale failed a field sobriety test but passed a breath test. He then submitted a urine sample. He remained jailed this morning with no bond set.
—James Anthony Jackson, 35, of Brashear Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested Saturday at 5:32 p.m. for theft by shoplifting (valued at $25.52) from a local supermarket. An off-duty police officer working security at the supermarket saw Jackson attempting to leave the store without paying for several bottles of wine. Jackson remained jailed this morning with no bail set.
—Carol Gene Guidry, 64, of Aucoin Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:40 p.m. Sunday for criminal mischief (filing a false complaint). Officers received a call from an anonymous person alleging that a clerk at a local motel was using illegal drugs. During the investigation, officers learned that the complaint was unfounded and learned that Guidry had been in a disagreement with the front office clerk earlier that evening. Officers located Guidry inside a motel room. He remained jailed this morning with no bail set.
—Juan Ramirez Torres Jr., 25, of Stacy Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:22 a.m. Sunday for disturbing the peace intoxicated at Cottonwood and Sandra streets. He remained jailed this morning with no bail set.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
—Marvin Young Sr., 70, of the 1300 block of James Street in Siracusaville, was arrested at 11:14 a.m. Friday for simple battery. A deputy responded to a disturbance at a business on La. 182 in Bayou Vista. The investigation revealed that Young struck a male victim with his hand. He was released on a summons to appear in court Dec. 11.
—Ramiro Alfaro Solis, 57, of the 300 block of Barrow Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:30 a.m. Saturday for driving while intoxicated, careless operation of a vehicle and no driver’s license. A deputy located a vehicle in a ditch off La. 182 in Amelia and made contact with Solis, who was swaying and unable to maintain his balance. While speaking with the deputy, Solis admitted to drinking several alcoholic beverages prior to driving the vehicle, Hebert said. Solis performed poorly on the field sobriety test and later registered a .138 grams-percent on the breath test. He remained jailed this morning with no bail set.
—Crystal Kay Mauney, 33, of the 7200 block of La. 182 in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:09 p.m. Sunday for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista where he was told by store personnel that Mauney consumed several items and then left without paying for the food. Mauney was released on a summons to appear in court on Dec. 11.
—Junior Randall Adams, 32, of the 1500 block of La. 182 in Patterson, was arrested at 10:01 p.m. Sunday for disturbing the peace (loud music) and disturbing the peace (intoxicated). A deputy responded to a complaint of loud music coming from Adams’ home. The deputy requested that Adams turn the music down and he complied but as the deputy was leaving the area, he turned the music up again. Adams remained jailed this morning on $1,000 bail.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Erin Lyon James, 26, of Grant Street in Patterson, was arrested at the city police department for theft by shoplifting at 8:34 p.m. Friday. James was released on her own reconnaissance.
—Phillip J. Aucoin, 42, of Guzzetta Street in Berwick, was arrested at 4:36 p.m. Friday at First and Church streets in Patterson for disturbing the peace by language. Aucoin remained jailed this morning on a $314 bail.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Charles Jones, 34, of Martin Luther King Dr. Ville Platte, was arrested at 1:20 p.m. Friday on Sixth Street in Berwick on Ville Platte warrants for domestic abuse battery and no driver’s license. He was transferred to Ville Platte authorities.
