American Legion ceremony

Amy Galloway deposited the first flag into the disposal box on Wednesday at the American Legion Hall on U.S. 90 in Patterson. On Aug. 13 the Marine Corps League, American Legion Post 242 and Boy Scouts of America Troop 242 met at the American Legion Hall in Patterson to honor the donation of a flag disposal box. The box is in front of the American Legion Hall for people to drop off used or worn flags. Once or twice a year a fire ceremony will be held to dispose of the flags. Donations from Louisiana Custom Cote, Elite Graphics and Plus Signs, all in Morgan City, made the box possible. Boy Scout members Colby Alexander, Brian Landry, Justin Chauvin and Devin Thibodeaux folded a flag under Assistant Scott Master Sandra Galloway’s supervision.
