Dale Brown to speak at St. Mary Outreach event

St. Mary Outreach will host Motivation for Life, A Night with Dale Brown, Feb. 24 at the Petroleum Club of Morgan City.
Brown, the longtime LSU men’s basketball coach who led the Tigers from 1972-1997, also has earned the title of “America’s Greatest Motivator.”
The event is a benefit for St. Mary Outreach, a private, non-profit agency that helps the needy in east St. Mary Parish.
The agency is funded by donations and also has several fundraisers throughout the year to raise money and awareness for the agency’s cause.
A limited number of tickets are available for the Feb. 24 event. Tickets are $75 apiece and include complimentary wine and beer.

A social and silent auction will begin at 6 p.m., while dinner will follow at 7 p.m.
Brown appeared in 14 straight national tournaments and is the winningest coach in LSU basketball history.
He has twice been named National Basketball Coach of the Year and was inducted into the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame in November 2014.
