LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) — Terrance Broadway tied a career-best with four touchdown passes as Louisiana-Lafayette welcomed Texas St. to the Sun Belt Conference with a 48-24 defeat Saturday night.

Broadway connected with Jamal Robinson for a pair of TD passes for the second week in a row. Broadway was 18 of 23 for 335 yards while connecting with ten different receivers. Robinson has accounted for nine touchdowns, four to Broadway, in the past two weeks.

Robinson averaged 28.5 yards on four catches, including a game-high 53-yard reception.

The Ragin' Canjuns (3-2, 1-0) coasted to a 45-3 lead before Brandon Smith made things interesting. Smith had two kickoff returns of 92 and 100 yards for touchdowns to lead the Bobcats (3-2, 0-1). Duke DeLancellotti closed out the scoring with a 2-yard TD run with 1:07 to play.

It was the first meeting between the schools.
