Louisiana-Monroe beats winless Georgia State 38-10

 

MONROE, La. (AP) — Kolton Browning threw for 224 yards and four touchdowns to lead Louisiana-Monroe past Georgia State, 38-10, in a Sun Belt Conference matchup Saturday night.

The Warhawks (4-4, 2-1 Sun Belt) jumped to an early 14-0 lead as Browning threw a four-yard touchdown to Tony Cook and a seven-yard score to Ajalen Holley.

The Panthers (0-8, 0-3) climbed back early in the second quarter when Robert Ferguson returned a Browning fumble 87 yards for a touchdown. Following a field goal, Georgia State recovered an onside kick, but Ben McLane was intercepted three plays later.

UL-Monroe capitalized with a 19-yard touchdown from Browning to Je'Ron Hamm. Centarius Donald, who finished with 126 yards on eight carries, scored from a yard out to extend the lead to 18 at intermission.

Browning threw a 24-yard strike to Harley Scioneaux in the third quarter to continue the rout, keeping Georgia State winless on the season.
