Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns softball tickets onsale

Staff Report

Season tickets for the upcoming 2016 Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns softball season, which begins in mid-February, are on sale to the public.
The Ragin’ Cajuns, ranked No. 11 in the final 2015 polls and coming off a fourth straight NCAA Super Regional appearance, return all but one of the nine hitters from their 2015 starting lineup that produced a school-record 116 home runs. The group is headlined by first-team All-America choice and reigning NFCA/Diamond Sports Division I Catcher of the Year Lexie Elkins.
A total of 16 playing dates are scheduled at Lamson Park for the 2016 season. That list includes two tournaments, the Louisiana Classics (Feb. 19-21) and Ragin’ Cajuns Invitational (Feb. 26-28).
The non-conference portion of the home schedule is highlighted by Women’s College World Series participant Oregon’s visit for the Louisiana Classics, while the Sun Belt segment features a series with South Alabama (March 12-13) during the league’s opening weekend.
Fans can purchase 2016 Ragin’ Cajuns softball season tickets via phone at 337-265-2100, at RaginCajuns.com or by visiting the Cajundome Box Office in person Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and extended hours during Ragin’ Cajuns basketball events.
Season ticket prices for the 2016 season are $275 for chair back seating (sections 105-109, 207) and $225 for bench back seating (sections 205-206 and 208-209) in the main grandstand. General admission seats in the outfield are $100.
Fans who purchase season tickets will have the benefit of the same seat location at every home game, the ability to purchase tickets at a cheaper price than individual game tickets and will receive priority access to any NCAA postseason games hosted at Lamson Park.
“We appreciate our season ticket holders,” Louisiana softball head coach Michael Lotief said in a news release. “The fan support — more importantly having our friends in the stands — makes Lamson Park one of the best softball venues and atmospheres in the country. That allows us to attract the best teams to come here.
“The revenue we generate allows us to stay competitive in this ever-changing environment,” Lotief added. “Please help us recruit and encourage more season ticket holders to be part of this year’s journey to win a championship.”
The Ragin’ Cajuns start the 2016 season — the 14th under Lotief’s direction — participating in the Sand Dollar Classic at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex in Gulf Shores, Alabama, Friday-Sunday, Feb. 12-14.
The following weekend, the squad makes its Lamson Park debut in the Louisiana Classics (Feb. 19-21), beginning the tournament with a 2 p.m. doubleheader against Oregon Feb. 19.
