LSU cornerback Tre'Davious White awarded No. 18

Staff Report

Junior cornerback Tre’Davious White was issued the No. 18 jersey by LSU head coach Les Miles Wednesday night during the first team meeting of the year.
The No. 18 jersey is awarded annually to the player on the LSU football team that displays a selfless attitude while representing the Tigers in a first-class manner both on and off the field. The player also is considered a team leader and someone that the younger players on the team can look up to and learn from.
White, a Shreveport native, enters his third season as a starter for the Tigers and is considered by those involved with program day-to-day operations as one of the most caring, genuine and outstanding young men at LSU.
White follows the legacy of No. 18 that was established by national champion quarterback Matt Mauck, who donned the jersey during LSU’s BCS Championship season in 2003.
