NBA pick and ULL star will appear at event

A top 10 pick in this year’s NBA draft as well as a former Morgan City High School standout and current University of Louisiana at Lafayette basketball player will be special guests at Morning Glory Ministries 6th annual Youth Fest Saturday.
Former ULL standout Elfrid Payton, who was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers and then traded to the Orlando Magic, will be at the event along with former teammate and current ULL standout Shawn Long. They will be at the event beginning at approximately 2 p.m.
On behalf of the Morgan City-based Hoodstock organization, founder Courtney “Schola” Long coordinated the appearance of the duo.
Saturday’s event will be held in Wyandotte Subdivision at 8011½ La. 182 East (behind Napa Auto Parts) from 11 a.m. until.
The free event will feature speaker Jeric Bias.
Door prizes and cash giveaways will be given.
Camouflage attire is welcomed but not required.
