Staff Report

A Central Catholic High School alum is part of a five-person contingent of Southeastern Louisiana University track and field team members scheduled to participate in the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field East Preliminaries in Jacksonville, Florida, beginning Thursday and ending Saturday.
Kendall Robinson, a senior, will compete in the high jump. Robinson, a third-team All-Southland Conference selection during the outdoor season, is advancing to the East Preliminaries for the first time.
He has the 36th best jump in the East region with a leap of 6 feet, 11.75 inches. He achieved the mark at the McNeese Spring Time Classic on April 9.
The top 12 finishers in each event at the meet will qualify for the National Championships, scheduled June 8-11 in Eugene, Oregon.
Live results from the East Preliminaries, provided by North Florida, will be available at www.LionSports.net.
Robinson finished fourth at the Southland Conference meet earlier this month with a leap of 6 feet, 9.5 inches.
Other Southeastern participants in the NCAA East Regional will include sophomore pole vaulter Devin King, junior thrower Nicole Delesdernier, senior thrower Jermisha Frazier and senior sprinter Sharrona Williams.
Of the group, King has the top pole vault mark in the nation with a leap of 18 feet, 8.25 inches, which he achieved at the Texas Relays.
