South Alabama gets past UL Monroe 36-14

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — Ross Metheny ran for one touchdown and threw for three more and Southern Alabama defeated Louisiana-Monroe 36-14.

Methany had a stellar performance as QB, rushing for 128 yards, including a 63-yard TD dash in the fourth quarter. Methany also passed for 194 yards, completing 15-of-26 passes with three touchdowns. Aleem Sunanon kicked three field goals of 34, 43 and 45 yards for the Jaguars (4-6, 2-3 Sun Belt Conference).

ULM (5-6, 3-3 Sun Belt) led briefly in the second quarter 7-6, but the Jaguars scored a few minutes later and began to run away with the game.

The Warhawks running game was shut down as they were held to just 71 yards on 39 attempts, averaging just 1.8 yards per carry. Kolton Browning threw for 196 yards (19-28) without an interception. Rashon Ceasar pulled in 9 passes for 138 yards.
