ULL’s Long is arrested

Morgan City High alum and current University of Louisiana at Lafayette basketball player Shawn Long was arrested early Saturday after he refused police requests to leave an area outside a building where a party was occurring, according to KATC TV 3 in Lafayette.
Long was booked with entry or remaining in places or land after being forbidden, KATC reported.
According to the news station, police originally were called at around 12:20 a.m. Saturday to the Trahan building at Legacy Park in Lafayette where Long was attending a party.
Long was asked by officers to leave the party and go to his apartment, but a police report said Long did not comply — even when a backup officer arrived — according to the TV station.
Police later saw Long and others outside the Trahan building and instructed him to go to his apartment, KATC reported.
KATC said police were called to a complaint of people gathered outside the Trahan building around 1:35 a.m. Saturday. Long, one of the people outside, was asked to leave, and he became argumentative, KATC said.
The news station reported he was subsequently arrested, booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Facility and later released.
