A 26-year-old Franklin man who had been in The Daily Review’s Most Wanted edition since January was arrested Tuesday on charges stemming from an incident where he is accused of fleeing from police and running six stop signs.
Breonne L. Bowie, 26, of the 400 block of Lockette Road in Franklin, was arrested at 7:52 p.m. Tuesday on eight warrants from the Franklin Police Department on two counts of simple criminal damage to property, two counts stop sign or yield sign violation, six counts driving under suspension, general speed law, resisting an officer by flight, possession of stolen things, no record of vehicle insurance and aggravated obstruction of a highway.
Bowie turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville after learning of the warrants for his arrest.
No bail is set.
The charges stem from an officer monitoring traffic in the area of Willow Street and Chatsworth Road, Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire said in a news release. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the vehicle did not stop and continued through the city failing to stop at six stop signs.
Bowie then pulled into a trailer park on Canal Street, and exited the vehicle, which continued to roll forward into a trailer. Bowie fled on foot, and officers were unable to locate him, McGuire said.
The possession of stolen things charge is because the license plate on the vehicle Bowie was driving was stolen, the chief said.
