A 26-year-old Morgan City man was arrested for attempted aggravated burglary of an inhabited dwelling after he tried to break down the door of a Sixth Street residence in Morgan City while demanding money from the residents, Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch said in a news release.

Myles K. Morgan, 26, of Front Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:24 p.m. Saturday for attempted aggravated burglary of an inhabited dwelling, appearing intoxicated in public, and resisting an officer.

Officers received a complaint of someone attempting to break into a Sixth Street residence. Officers found Morgan standing in the front yard of the residence holding a brick and screaming, Crouch said. Officers ordered him to drop the brick which he complied and was detained. He immediately threatened and resisted officers and had to be restrained and placed in a police unit, Crouch said.

Officers learned that Morgan had knocked on the residence and demanded money, and when the occupants refused, Morgan grabbed a brick and attempted to batter the door to gain entry into the residence while shouting threats, Crouch said. He was jailed.

Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch reported the following arrests:

—Troy A. Mack, 49, of Braithwaite, was arrested at 10:33 p.m. Friday for disturbing the peace intoxicated, open container in a motor vehicle, driving with a suspended driver’s license, and switched license plate.

Bystanders pointed out a vehicle attempting to leave a local lounge after a disturbance. According to witnesses, Mack, the driver of the vehicle, became involved in a disturbance with a female outside the lounge. Mack was jailed and released after posting cash bail.

—Calie E. Anslem, 23, of Cottonwood Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:12 p.m. Friday on a warrant for failure to appear for drug court for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. Anslem was jailed with bail set at $100,000.

—Donald Ray Davis, 25, of Diane Lane in Patterson, was arrested at 1:56 a.m. Saturday for driving while intoxicated, improper lane usage, and open container in a motor vehicle.

A patrolling officer observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner in the area of La. 182 in Morgan City. The driver was identified as Davis. Davis did poorly on a field sobriety test. The results of an Intoxilyzer 5000 test indicated that Davis’ blood alcohol content was .14 grams-percent. He was jailed on $10,379 bail.

—Jason J. Blanchard, 26, of Tiffany Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 4:13 a.m. Saturday for appearing intoxicated in public, and remaining on premises after being forbidden.

An officer was summoned to a La. 182 restaurant about a person refusing to leave the premises. Blanchard was found passed out and sleeping at a table. Officers gave him a chance to leave the premises on his own, but he refused, Crouch said. Blanchard was jailed.

—Antonu Aphora Evans, 40, of Houston, Texas, was arrested at 11:52 p.m. Saturday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Officers were summoned to a La. 182 fast food restaurant in regards to a person who had fallen asleep while operating a vehicle in the drive thru lane of the establishment. Officers found the driver, Evans, asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle, which was still in drive and engine running, Crouch said.

Officers detained Evans and found he exhibited signs of intoxication. Evans was given a field sobriety test in which he did poorly on. He was taken to the police department where he registered .144 grams-percent blood alcohol content on the Intoxilyzer. He was jailed.

—Christian Olmeda, 38, of Chennault Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:40 a.m. Sunday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, no driver’s license, open container of alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, and misrepresentation during booking.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard and La. 182 in regard to a person sleeping behind the wheel of his vehicle. Officers arrived and discovered a subject, who identified himself as Othon Valdez asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle which was still running. He was found to possess open containers of alcohol inside his vehicle. He did poorly on a field sobriety test. He was taken to the Morgan City Police Department and registered .177 grams-percent blood alcohol content on the Intoxilyzer 5000 test. The man’s true identity was discovered to be Christian Olmeda, and he was jailed.

—Jerry A. Boyer, 69, of Fourth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:08 a.m. Sunday for disturbing the peace intoxicated. Boyer was located at a local supermarket and jailed.

—Christopher A. Moses, 17, of Eagle Drive in Thibodaux, was arrested at 3:35 p.m. Sunday for disturbing the peace and simple battery.

Witnesses said Moses and a female were involved in a verbal altercation on Clothilde Street. According to witnesses, Moses struck the female, Crouch said. Moses was jailed.

—Shauntell N. Hartdegen, 30, of La. 182 in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:07 a.m. today for operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, on a warrant from Patterson Police for speeding, and no driver’s license.

Hartdegen was jailed at the Morgan City Police Department.

Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.

Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
