Arrest reports

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
—Brent M. Dalton, 33, of the 100 block of Sydney Jo Lane in Berwick, was arrested at 6:11 p.m. Monday for flight from an officer and reckless operation. While patrolling the Berwick area, parish narcotics agents watched a vehicle cross the fog line several times before driving on the shoulder of La. 182. Detectives conducted a traffic stop near Tournament Boulevard. Dalton refused to comply with the detectives’ order to open the door. Dalton put the vehicle in drive and accelerated at a high rate of speed, causing the vehicle’s tires to spin, the report stated. Nearly colliding with another vehicle, Dalton fled from detectives travelling down La. 182. Dalton was detained on Sydney Jo Lane and remained jailed this morning with no bail set, the report stated.
—Joel M. Floyd III, 24, of the 1100 block of Cross Road 2 in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 9:35 p.m. Monday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of failure to have commercial license in possession. A deputy responded to a report of a stalled vehicle on the crest of the U.S. 90 bridge in Morgan City. While assisting Floyd, the deputy learned of the warrant. Floyd remained jailed this morning in lieu of $5,000 bail.
—William Claussen, 29, of the 800 block of Cleco Street in Patterson, was arrested at 3:19 a.m. today for disturbing the peace intoxicated. A deputy responded to a complaint of a disturbance in the parking lot of a business in Verdunville. The deputy made contact with Claussen, who was sitting in the driver’s seat. The deputy smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage on Claussen’s breath and person, the report stated. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Claussen was repeatedly setting off his vehicle’s alarm and spinning the vehicles tires in the parking lot, causing a disturbance, Hebert stated. Claussen remained jailed this morning.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Harold Sheets, 30, of Berwick was arrested at 12:15 p.m. Monday on three failure to comply with drug court warrants for contempt of court disturbing the peace, disturbing the peace by fighting and conspiracy to distribute codeine. Sheets is being held by St. Mary Parish on $300,000 bail.
Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch reported the following arrest:
—Megan A. Schmunk, 19, of Delray Beach, Fla., was arrested at 6:25 p.m. Monday for no driver’s license and stop sign violation. Officers responded to a call of a traffic crash at the intersection of La. 70 and U.S. 90. The driver, Schmunk, was found to be operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license. She disregarded a stop sign resulting in a collision. There were no injuries. She was jailed with no bail set.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
