Arrest reports

A 17-year-old male was arrested Wednesday after he stabbed another male, who sustained non-life threatening injuries during a card game, Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch said in a news release.
—Jayme Wininger, 17, of Louisa Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:12 p.m. Wednesday for aggravated battery with a dangerous weapon
Police were dispatched to Teche Regional Medical Center in regard to a person being treated for a stab wound. Officers spoke to the stabbing victim at which time he advised that he was at a friend’s house playing cards. He told officers that during the card game he jokingly slapped another person at the residence on the stomach area, Crouch said.
The male said the person he slapped produced a knife and stabbed him in the chest. He then left and went to Teche Regional Medical Center for treatment. Officers spoke to other witnesses who gave the same statements as the stabbing victim, Crouch said.
Wininger told officers that he was showing his knife to people at the residence when he was slapped in the stomach by the victim and then stabbed him, Crouch said. Wininger was jailed. The victim was treated and released with no life threatening wounds, Crouch said.
—Appalaraju Allipilli, 37, of Egle Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday for first degree vehicle negligent injuring and driving while intoxicated second offense.
Police were dispatched to Egle Street in regard to a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian. Officers located a male subject lying on the ground who appeared to have been struck by a vehicle. He was taken to Teche Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Officers determined that Allipilli was the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash. Upon speaking to the driver it was found that Allipilli was attempting to back up from a private drive and in doing so struck a pedestrian who was walking.
Officers detected that he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, Crouch said. Allipilli registered .21 grams-percent blood alcohol concentration. Allipilli was jailed. The pedestrian was treated for non-life threatening injuries and released from Teche Regional Medical Center, Crouch said.
—Alvaro Bolanos-Franco, 35, of Third Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:29 p.m. Tuesday for careless operation with an accident and no driver’s license.
Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Brashear Avenue and Seventh Street in regards to a vehicle accident. Bolanos-Franco was jailed.
—Deondray Thomas, 25, of Lena Street in Lafayette, was arrested at 4:34 a.m. Wednesday for improper lane usage, expired driver’s license, open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, and possession of marijuana first offense.
—Andrew Watson, 21, of Lena Street in Lafayette, was arrested at 5:07 a.m. Wednesday for possession of an open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle and possession of marijuana first offense.
—Paris Bias, 22, of Steinberg Drive in Lafayette, was arrested at 5:07 a.m. Wednesday for possession of Schedule IV Alprazolam without a prescription, possession of a Schedule IV Carisoprodol without a prescription.
—Lakesha Leon, 22, of Bridge Street in St. Martinville, was arrested at 5:07 a.m. Wednesday for possession of an open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, possession of a Schedule IV Alprazolam without a prescription, and possession of a Schedule IV Carisoprodol without a prescription.
Officers conducted a traffic stop at Ditch Avenue and La. 182 for a vehicle that was operating erratically. Officers detected an odor of burning marijuana emitting from inside of the vehicle, Crouch said.
Officers located an open alcoholic beverage inside the vehicle along with suspected marijuana in the front seat.
Officers noticed that Leon had an open alcoholic vehicle in the rear seat next to her, Crouch said. Officers located Alprazolam and Carisoprodol, which both Bias and Leon did not have a legal prescription to obtain, Crouch said. All four were jailed.
—Hugo Ramirez, 35, of Levee Road in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:27 p.m. Wednesday for driving under suspension, no insurance, and a warrant for failure to appear to pay fine for simple battery.
An officer conducted a traffic stop on La. 182 in Morgan City knowing Ramirez had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Ramirez was jailed.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 90 complaints and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Rhonda Lodrigue, 37, of the 1800 block of Saturn Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 11:01 a.m. Wednesday on a warrant for theft more than $500. A deputy located Lodrigue at her residence on the warrant. The warrant stems from an investigation into a complaint of a check that was reported stolen by an area business. The stolen check was cashed by Lodrigue. This is the second arrest in this investigation, Hebert said.
On Oct. 6, Darin Hannigan was also arrested on a warrant for theft more than $500. Lodrigue was jailed and released on a $2,500 bail.
—Damenn Engleton, 24, of the 3500 block of King Street in New Iberia, was arrested at 9:36 a.m. Monday on a warrant for probation violation. A deputy responding to a report of a disturbance at an apartment complex in the Patterson area made contact with Engleton and subsequently learned of the active warrant for his arrest. Engleton was jailed. He was released on $10,000 bail.
—Devin Parvino, 24, of the 100 block of Burchfield Lane in Berwick, was arrested at 7:29 a.m. Tuesday on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge. A deputy, assisting a Louisiana State Police trooper with a traffic stop, made contact with the driver, Parvino, who held an active warrant for his arrest. Parvino was jailed and released on $100 bail.
—Ashton Jones, 33, of the 400 block of Ratcliff Lane in Ricohoc, was arrested at 4:21 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of stop sign violation and driving under suspension. A deputy made contact with Jones at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin and learned of the warrant for his arrest. Ashton was jailed. No bail is set.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Two male juveniles, 11 and 12, both of Patterson, were arrested at 2:51 p.m. Tuesday for criminal mischief. Both were released to a guardian.
—Aaron Cage, 22, of the 1200 block of Fifth Street in Patterson, was arrested 5:32 p.m. Wednesday for simple battery involving domestic violence. Cage was jailed.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the following arrests:
—Eulalia H. McCoy, 18, of Snead Street in Berwick, was arrested at 3:47 a.m. Wednesday for possession of marijuana second offense, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor under age 17, and disturbing the peace. McCoy was released on $2,500 bail.
—Amber S. McCoy, 17, of Snead Street in Berwick, was arrested at 4:21 a.m. Wednesday for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor under age 17. McCoy was released on $3,500 bail.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
