A 31-year-old Berwick woman and 39-year-old Texas man were arrested on several drug charges after detectives investigated illegal drug activity inside a Morgan City motel room, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Kristie Lee McNabb, 31, of the 200 block of Trevino Street in Berwick, was arrested at 1:37 p.m. Thursday for possession of synthetic cannabinoids with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile, violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone), possession of drug paraphernalia and on a warrant for failure to appear in drug court.
—Milton Guy Aucoin Jr., 39, of the 200 block of Quail Run Street in Canyon Lake, Texas, was arrested at 12:59 p.m. Thursday for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and on a warrant for failure to appear on traffic charges.
Detectives conducted an investigation into illegal drug activity at a motel room in Morgan City. Detectives made contact with Aucoin and located marijuana and items of drug paraphernalia during the investigation, Hebert said.
The investigation led detectives to a second motel room where they made contact with McNabb. Detectives located several packs of synthetic cannabinoids and items of drug paraphernalia. There was a juvenile in the room at the time of the investigation, Hebert said. The juvenile was released to a guardian. Aucoin and McNabb were taken to the parish jail.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 38 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Zachary Jude Mahfouz, 20, of the 2800 block of Second Street in Berwick, was arrested at 10:45 p.m. Thursday for possession of synthetic cannabinoids with intent to distribute, possession of Schedule IV (Xanax), possession of drug paraphernalia, and on a warrant for a probation violation.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office narcotics detectives along with Morgan City Police Department detectives executed a search warrant at a motel room in Bayou Vista. The warrant was the result of an investigation into illegal drug activity at the location. Detectives located several packs of synthetic cannabinoids, Xanax pills and items of drug paraphernalia, Hebert said. Mahfouz was jailed.
—Joshua Lousteau, 33, of the 3000 block of Lizabeth Drive in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:15 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for failure to appear for issuing worthless checks. A deputy came into contact with Lousteau at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin and learned of the warrant for his arrest. Lousteau was jailed. He was released on $1,000 bail.
—James Thoune, 21, of the 200 block of Broadway Street in Church Point, was arrested at 7:24 p.m. Thursday for disturbing the peace fighting.
—Caleb Gros, 17, of the 100 block of Sun Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 3:17 a.m. today for disturbing the peace fighting.
A deputy responded to a report of a fight on Mars Road in Bayou Vista. Through statements from witnesses the deputy determined that Thoune and Gros were involved in a fist fight. Thoune and Gros were released on summons to appear in court April 28.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrests:
—John Chissell, 29, of Louisiana Avenue Parkway in New Orleans; Isiah Foster, 27, of North Claiborne Avenue in New Orleans; Donald Bourgeois, 53, of North Sugar Ridge in LaPlace and Matthew Ramsey, 25, of La. 42 in Holden, were arrested at 6:51 p.m. Thursday for soliciting without a permit. They were released on bail.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch reported no arrests.
