A Morgan City man was arrested for cruelty to an animal after police found a dog with a band tied around its tail suffering from an infection at a Sixth Street residence, Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks said.
—Tyrone F. Thomas, 49, of Sixth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:13 a.m. Friday for cruelty to an animal.
Police were dispatched to a Sixth Street residence in regard to an injured animal. Officers learned that the dog had a rubber-type band tied around its tail which caused infection and injury to the animal, Banks said.
The animal was seized by the animal control officer and police learned that the dog’s tail would have to be amputated, Banks said. The owner of the animal, Thomas, was jailed and released after posting cash bail.
Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks reported the following arrest:
—Alton J. Castille, 38, of Duke Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:53 p.m. Sunday on a warrant for no driver’s license and a warrant for loud music. Castille was located at a Duke Street residence and jailed.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 115 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Vintrell Boyd, 33, of the 1000 block of Grace Street in Siracusa, was arrested at 8:39 a.m. Friday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of resisting an officer by giving false information, resisting an officer, and disturbing the peace by intoxication. A deputy responding to a complaint at the residence on Grace Street made contact with Boyd and discovered the active warrant for his arrest. Boyd was jailed with no bail set.
—Norma Gros, 47, of the 100 block of Two Sisters Court in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 6 p.m. Friday for simple burglary. A deputy investigating a complaint of a burglary in Two Sisters Court located prescription medication belonging to the complainant inside Gros’ residence. The deputy learned that Gros went into the complainant’s home and took the medicine. Gros was jailed with bail set at $20,000.
—McCollum Livas, 23, of the 100 block of Edgewood Boulevard in Houma, was arrested at 12:58 p.m. Saturday for theft of goods.
—Shameka Navarre, 28, of the 800 block of Easy Street in Houma, was arrested at 12:58 p.m. Saturday for theft of goods.
A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Livas and Navarre were released on summonses to appear in court on June 12.
—Chanel M. Billiot, 22, of the 200 block of Ansley Place in Houma, was arrested at 3:37 p.m. Saturday for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. She was released on a summons to appear in court on June 12.
—Angelo Walker, 53, of the 700 block of Parish Road 131 in Verdunville, was arrested at 12:53 a.m. Sunday for disturbing the peace intoxication. A deputy responding to a complaint of a disturbance at the residence listed above made contact with Walker who appeared to be intoxicated.
The deputy advised Walker to go in for the night. Walker stated that he would comply. About 30 minutes later a second complaint was received. The deputy learned that Walker was yelling at a female. Walker was jailed with bail set at $500.
—Margaret Breaux, 37, of the 100 block of Kate Court in Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested at 2:50 a.m. today for possession of Schedule IV (Klonopin). A deputy responding to a vehicle crash on La. 182 in the Siracusa area located a Klonopin pill inside one of the vehicles. The pill belonged to Breaux who was unable to provide a prescription for the medication, Hebert said. Breaux was jailed with no bail set.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrest:
—Dominic Campbell, 36, of the 100 block of Samuel Street in Houma, was arrested at 11:37 p.m. for simple battery involving domestic violence. Campbell was jailed with no bail set at this time.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Randeisha Jones, 18, of Houma, was arrested at 8:55 p.m. Sunday for simple criminal damage to property and disturbing the peace. Jones was released on bail.
