Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch reported the following arrests:
—Demarcus J. Kemp, 26, of Verdun Lane in Franklin, was arrested at 7:56 p.m. Tuesday for possession of Schedule II controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute (crack cocaine), operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, and no license plate illumination.
Detectives observed a vehicle without proper equipment, and the driver was identified as Kemp. Kemp could not produce a valid driver’s license and was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, Crouch said. Kemp was also found to possess a cellophane bag which contained several pieces of suspected crack cocaine, and was jailed.
—Ricky J. Mire Jr., 33, of Jordan Lane in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:02 p.m. Tuesday for attempted theft.
Officers responded to a complaint of a person attempting to remove items from a Front Street business at which the subject was employed. Officers were told Mire attempted to conceal and remove welding leads from the business, Crouch said. He was jailed and released after posting cash bail.
—Donna S. Armond, 51, of Glenwood Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday for domestic abuse battery.
Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Myrtle Street and La. 182 regarding a fight. Officers arrived and determined that Armond and a male were involved in an altercation at the intersection. Armond was observed striking the male during the altercation, Crouch said. She was jailed.
—April D. Ordoyne, 24, of Roselawn Drive in Morgan City, was arrested Tuesday for operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, and two tail lamps required.
An officer observed a vehicle without proper equipment and stopped the vehicle on Duke Street near La. 182. The driver, Ordoyne, was discovered to be operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Ordoyne was jailed and released on bail.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrest:
—Cyrus Gray, 55, of the 500 block of Cleveland Street in Patterson, was arrested at 7:01 p.m. Tuesday for criminal damage to property. Gray was released on $1,000 bail.
