A 36-year-old Morgan City man was arrested Saturday after he grabbed a woman by the neck and pushed her into a wall at a residence in Bayou Vista, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
Shane V. Concienne, 36, of the 200 block of Belanger Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:27 a.m. Saturday for domestic abuse battery strangulation and domestic abuse battery. Deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in progress at a residence on Saturn Road in Bayou Vista.
While enroute, a deputy received information that a male involved left the residence in a vehicle. The deputy located the vehicle, conducted a stop and found the driver, Concienne. Another deputy found two females at the residence. Deputies learned that Concienne grabbed a female by the neck pushing her into a wall. Earlier that day, Concienne pushed the other female victim, Hebert said. Concienne was jailed no bail set.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
—Mathew P. Delahoussaye Jr., 24, of the 100 block of Cajun Way Lane in Amelia, was arrested at 9:45 a.m. Friday for terrorizing. A deputy responded to a complaint from a hotel in Amelia in reference to an employee threatening to burn down the business. The deputy learned that Delahoussaye made the threat because of a delay in receiving his paycheck due to the holiday. Delahoussaye was jailed with no bail set.
—Jerry J. Taylor, 53, of the 300 block of Glenwood Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:36 a.m. Wednesday on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. A deputy located Taylor at a store in Bayou Vista. Taylor was released on a summons to appear in court Jan. 31.
—Phillip Aucoin, 42, of the 100 block of Guzzetta Street in Berwick, was arrested at 10:37 p.m. Wednesday for violating parish ordinances of public drinking/open containers prohibited and littering prohibited. He was also charged on a warrant for probation violation. A deputy responded to a report of a suspicious person on U.S. 90 in Bayou Vista. The deputy located Aucoin sitting on the side of the shoulder of U.S. 90. The deputy smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on Aucoin’s breath and also observed empty glass beer bottles near Aucoin and his bicycle, Hebert said. The deputy also learned that Aucoin held an active warrant for his arrest. Aucoin was jailed with bail set at $6,000.
—Johnny Jones, 36, of the 2000 block of Millerville Road in Baton Rouge, was arrested at 4:31 a.m. Thursday for driving while intoxicated. A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a motorcyclist who was driving recklessly on U.S. 90 near the La. 182 junction in Ricohoc. The deputy smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on Jones’ breath, Hebert said. Jones performed poorly on the field sobriety test and later registered .183 grams-percent blood alcohol concentration on the breath test. Jones was jailed and released on $2,500 bail.
—Brandon Barrilleaux, 29, of the 200 block of Mars Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 1:57 p.m. Saturday for theft. A deputy investigating a complaint of a gun theft learned that Barrilleaux had sold two rifles that were stolen, Hebert said. Barrilleaux was released on a summons to appear in court Jan. 31.
—Larry Singleton Jr., 31, of the 11800 block of Long Ridge Avenue in Baton Rouge, was arrested at 1 p.m. Sunday for possession of Schedule I, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal carrying of weapons, possession of a firearm in the presence of illegal narcotics, and a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of driving under suspension and license plate light required.
A deputy responded to a complaint of trespassing on property on Avoca Island. The deputy located Singleton, walking on a roadway with a shotgun and ordered Singleton to place the weapon on the ground. Singleton complied. Singleton was found to be in possession of another gun concealed on him, Hebert said. Also, the deputy smelled the odor of burning marijuana. Singleton was subsequently found to be in possession of the illegal drug and rolling papers. Singleton was jailed with no bail set.
—Leroy Bailey, 28, of Solar Apartments in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:31 p.m. Sunday for theft. A deputy responded to a complaint of a theft at a store in Bayou Vista. The deputy learned from store personnel that Bailey was seen removing a mobile phone case from the packaging and concealing it in his pants. Bailey then left the store without paying for the item. Bailey was released on a summons to appear in court March 26.
—Megan Fontenot, 25, of the 1200 block of Clement Lane in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 2:23 p.m. Sunday on a warrant for probation violation. A deputy conducting a follow up to an earlier complaint made contact with Fontenot at a residence on Clement Lane and learned of the warrant for her arrest. Fontenot was jailed with bail set at $5,000.
Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch reported the following arrests:
—James S. Welch IV, 44, of Willard Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:42 p.m. Thursday for simple domestic battery.
Officers responded to a complaint of a disturbance at a Willard Street address. Officers learned that Welch and a female were involved in a verbal altercation that turned physical when Welch struck the female. Welch was jailed.
—Daniel Ackman, 38, of Fourth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:44 p.m. Friday for simple battery.
Officers received a complaint in regard to a battery which occurred at a Fourth Street address. Officers were advised that Ackman had struck another person at the residence resulting in minor injuries. Ackman had injuries and was jailed.
—Misty L. Gaudet, 26, of James Street in Pierre Part, was arrested at 11:15 p.m. Sunday for possession of Schedule I controlled dangerous substance-synthetic marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
—Jared D. Hope, 23, of Louisa Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:15 p.m. Sunday for possession of Schedule I controlled dangerous substance-synthetic marijuana fifth offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia fifth offense.
An officer observed a vehicle parked at the Front Street wharf in Morgan City and stopped to investigate. The officer found Hope and Gaudet who were smoking suspected synthetic marijuana inside their vehicle, Crouch said. The officer recovered the items along with items of paraphernalia. They were jailed.
—Leah N. Walker, 41, of Fourth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9:33 p.m. Saturday for entry/remaining after being forbidden.
Officers received a complaint of a person refusing to leave a local lounge. Officers were advised that Walker refused to leave the lounge when asked by management. The officer provided Walker with several opportunities to leave the lounge and she refused, Crouch said. She was jailed.
—Matthew J. Williams, 53, of Eleventh Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 6:05 p.m. Thursday for disturbing the peace. Officers responded to a complaint of a disturbance at an Eleventh Street address and located Williams, who according to witnesses was throwing objects and causing a disturbance, Crouch said. Williams was jailed.
—Michael Francois Jr., 22, of Grove Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:51 a.m. today on a warrant for failure to pay a fine on the charge of driving under suspension.
Francois was located at a Freret St. residence and jailed.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrests:
—Jeffrey Gilmore, 52, of Hendricks Street in Patterson, was arrested at 4:55 p.m. Sunday for theft of motor vehicle fuel and an open container. No bail is set.
—Dex Clements, 27, of River Road in Berwick, was arrested at 5 p.m. Saturday for disturbing the peace and resisting an officer. Clements was jailed on $450 bail.
—Greg Adams, 38, of the 200 block of Jones Street in Berwick, was arrested at 2:50 p.m. Sunday for domestic abuse battery and aggravated assault. Adams struck a woman and pulled a knife on her at his Jones Street residence, Richard said. No bail is set.
—Ray Cantrell Jr., 55, of Pharr Street in Berwick, was arrested at 11 a.m. Friday for disturbing the peace intoxicated, aggravated assaults, and on Morgan City police warrants for careless operation and a probation violation. Cantrell pulled on knife on people inside the Pharr Street residence, Richard said. Cantrell was jailed on $1,250 bail.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Demetres Ann James, 31, of the 100 block of Johnson Ridge in Thibodaux, was arrested at 8:05 p.m. Saturday for driving under suspension, speeding 85 mph, driving while intoxicated first offense, and two warrants for Lafourche Parish. James was jailed with no bail set at this time.
—Morris James, 42, of the 100 block of Nita Street in New Iberia, was arrested at 4:45 a.m. Sunday for driving under suspension, speeding 79 mph in a 55 mph zone, and driving while intoxicated first offense. James was jailed and released on $3,500 bail.
—Tradasha Brooks, 18, of the 300 block of Taft Street in Patterson, and Shailon L. Favors, 20, of the 100 block of Mill Road in Patterson, were arrested at 3:58 p.m. Sunday for simple battery. Both were jailed on $406 bail.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the following arrests:
—Donald Derouen, 23, of Fifth Street in Morgan City, at 1:33 p.m. Friday, was arrested on a warrant for the Franklin Police Department for disturbing the peace by fighting. Derouen was released on $250 bail.
—Jessie Webb, 26, of Second Street in Patterson, was arrested at 12:19 p.m. Sunday, for no seat belt, altered license plate (temporary tag), failure to provide proof of insurance, driving under suspension, resisting an officer by giving false information, and possession of Schedule I narcotics (marijuana, second offense). Webb was also arrested on multiple warrants dated Nov. 5, 2012, for theft, simple criminal damage to property, and simple battery. Webb was jailed with no bail set.
