The officers identified the passenger in the vehicle as Fontenot, who was also wanted on warrants, the chief said.
The Morgan City Police Department had an outstanding warrant for Fontenot which identified him as a suspect which was involved in an armed robbery reported on Oct. 16, 2010, Banks said.
In that incident, the victim was alleged to have been robbed by suspects armed with a handgun, Banks said. Fontenot was identified as a suspect in that investigation, Banks said.
