A Franklin teen was charged with simple assault Thursday after she was accused of making threats to physically harm someone after refusing to leave a residence, Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks said in a news release.
—Sabrina N. Darby, 17, of Iberia Street in Franklin, was arrested at 1:14 p.m. Thursday for entry/remaining where forbidden and simple assault.
Officers were dispatched to a Second Street residence located in the 1400 block in regards to a disturbance. Officers learned that Darby was accused of causing the disturbance and refusing to leave the premises when asked, Banks said.
Officers made attempts to give Darby the opportunity to leave the premises, however she refused and began to make threats of physical harm to the resident, Banks said. Darby was jailed.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 38 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Kayla Aucoin, 21, of the 1000 block of Third Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:42 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for the charges of possession of a Schedule II drug methamphetamine, possession of Schedule I marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Narcotics detectives located Aucoin at her residence on the warrant. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted earlier this week at Aucoin’s residence during which detectives located the illegal drugs and several syringes. Aucoin was jailed with no bail set.
—Joshua Johnson, 22, of the 100 block of Friendship Alley in Amelia, was arrested at 5:11 p.m. Thursday for possession of cocaine, obstruction of justice, and resisting an officer. Narcotics detectives patrolling the Amelia area observed a male subject walking on Friendship Alley.
When the man saw detectives, he immediately turned around attempting to conceal a blue pill bottle in his hands before fleeing on foot, Hebert said. Detectives pursued the man and after a short foot chase, he was detained and identified as Johnson, the sheriff said. Detectives recovered the pill bottle discarded by Johnson during the foot chase and located cocaine inside, Hebert said. Johnson was jailed with no bail set.
—Eric S. Gaskins, 43, of the 2400 block of Apple Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 5:22 pm Thursday on a warrant for the charges of possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute and resisting an officer. Narcotics detectives patrolling the Amelia area observed Gaskins in the passenger seat of a vehicle on Friendship Alley. Detectives knew Gaskins had an active warrant for his arrest and made contact with him, the sheriff said.
The warrant stems from an investigation into illegal drug activity during which detectives observed Gaskins to be in possession of several rocks of crack cocaine, Hebert said.
Upon seeing detectives, Gaskins fled on foot, Hebert said. Following the investigation, detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest, Hebert said. Gaskins was jailed with no bail set.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Celeste Authement, 31, of the 300 block of Capri Court in Houma, was arrested at 10:08 p.m. Thursday for criminal trespass. Authement was released on a $398 paid fine.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
