Arrests reports

Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks reported the following arrests:
—Thomas Remedies, 21, of Second Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:04 a.m. Sunday for possession of synthetic cannabinoids fifth offense and appearing intoxicated in public.
Officers were dispatched to a Third Street residence in regard to a suspicious person. Officers located Remedies who was impaired and in possession of synthetic marijuana, Banks said. He was jailed.
Banks reported the following arrests.
—Marjorie R. Ruffin, 24, of Franklin, was arrested at 11:20 a.m. Friday for disturbing the peace by fighting.
—Lashawn M. Antoine, 21, of Franklin, was arrested at 11:20 a.m. Friday for disturbing the peace by fighting
Antoine and Ruffin, who were being held in the Morgan City Police Department Jail, were arrested and charged after they became involved in a physical encounter. Both remain in jail.
—Craig C. Nini, 33, of Berwick, was arrested at 3:57 a.m. Saturday for possession of Schedule II Fentanyl/Morphine.
Officers were dispatched to a La. 182 convenience store in regard to suspected drug activity. Officers located Nini, who was questioned about why he was in the area, Banks said. A narcotics canine dog was utilized in a sweep of the suspect’s vehicle. The canine indicated the presence of the odor of illegal narcotics which resulted in a search of Nini’s vehicle, Banks said. Officers located a Fentanyl patch inside the vehicle which Nini admitted to possessing, Banks said. He was jailed.
—Mykella L. Johnson, 27, of Berwick, was arrested at 5:11 a.m. Saturday for reckless operation of a moving vehicle with an accident and no driver’s license.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Grizzaffi Street and La. 182 in regards to a driver of a vehicle chasing another vehicle. Officers observed a vehicle being driven in a reckless manner and appeared to be involved in some type of disturbance or altercation with the driver of another vehicle, Banks said.
During the altercation, Johnson, according to witnesses, operated her vehicle in a reckless manner by attempting to swerve into the complainant’s vehicle, Banks said.
During the encounter, the complainant’s vehicle and Johnson’s vehicle collided, Banks said. The encounter was confirmed by a passenger in the victim’s vehicle, Banks said. Johnson was jailed.
—Shannon L. Johnson, 36, of Dawn Drive in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:19 p.m. Saturday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated second offense and speeding.
An officer observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner and stopped the vehicle to investigate. The driver of the vehicle, Johnson, exhibited signs of impairment and was given a field sobriety test in which he did poorly on, Banks said. Johnson registered .125 grams-percent blood alcohol concentration on the Intoxilyzer 5000 test and was jailed. Johnson had been convicted of driving while intoxicated in 2009, Banks said.
—Josue Reyes, 33, of Railroad Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:11 p.m. Saturday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, no driver’s license and possession of alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle.
An officer was dispatched to La. 182 in regard to a vehicle being driven in a reckless manner. The officer located the vehicle as described near Roderick Street and La. 182 and stopped the vehicle after it was observed being driven in an erratic manner.
The driver, identified as Reyes, exhibited signs of impairment and was observed to have open containers of alcoholic beverage inside his vehicle. Reyes was jailed and registered .238 grams-percent blood alcohol concentration on the Intoxilyzer 5000 test.
—Vernon J. Robin, 72, of First Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 1:09 a.m. Sunday for improper lane usage, driving while intoxicated first offense and open container of an alcoholic beverage inside a motor vehicle.
An officer observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner in the area of La. 182 near Duke Street after the vehicle pulled into the path of the unit, almost causing a collision, Banks said.
The vehicle was stopped and the driver identified as Robin. He registered .187 grams-percent blood alcohol concentration on the Intoxilyzer 5000 test and was jailed.
—Ira Loushers, 55, of First Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 1:13 a.m. Sunday on warrants for failure to appear-drug paraphernalia; contempt of court, two counts; and resisting an officer.
Loushers was located on Louisiana Street and jailed on the warrants.
—Carloz Santos, 37, of Onstead Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:41 a.m. Sunday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, no driver’s license and improper lane usage.
An officer observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner in the area of Cottonwood Street and La. 182 after the vehicle swerved into oncoming traffic in front of the police unit.
The vehicle was stopped and the driver identified as Santos. He exhibited signs of impairment and could not complete a field sobriety test, Banks said. He registered .224 grams-percent blood alcohol concentration on the Intoxilyzer 5000 test and was jailed.
—Ciera C. Thomas, 25, of La. 182 in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:42 a.m. Sunday on a St. Mary Parish warrant for failure to appear for revocation hearing.
Thomas was located at a Highway 182 apartment complex and placed under arrest on an outstanding warrant for the Sixteenth Judicial District Court. She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.
—Bradley D. Talbert, 21, of Brunswick, Georgia, was arrested at 11:31 p.m. Sunday for disturbing the peace by intoxication.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Franklin Street regarding a man screaming profanities and causing a disturbance, Banks said. Talbert was located in the area and identified as the suspect. He was jailed.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 101 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Fran Keller, 51, of Main Street in Patterson, was arrested at 10:38 a.m. Saturday on a business parking lot on La. 182 in Bayou Vista, for two counts of battery on a police officer, disturbing the peace, resisting an officer and careless operation of a motor vehicle.
Deputies were dispatched to the area for a vehicle swerving in the area of La. 182 in Bayou Vista. Deputies found the vehicle on a business parking lot. Upon checking the vehicle, the driver began arguing with the deputies and struck the deputies during the investigation, Hebert said. No bail is set yet.
—Christian Eugene, 39, of Grizzaffi Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:36 a.m. Friday on three counts for failure to appear in court. He was released on $600 bail.
—Stephen Foret, 22, of St. Peter Street in Patterson, was arrested on La. 182 in Bayou Vista at 1:34 a.m. Saturday for disturbing the peace by fighting. Deputies responded to a disturbance where the suspect was involved in a fight. He received treatment at Teche Regional Medical Center, Banks said. He was released on a summons to appear in court Nov. 24.
—Gage Tapia, 21, of Natalie Lane in Patterson, was arrested at 6:01 p.m. Saturday on a warrant for failure to appear. Gage was jailed with no bail set yet.
—Justin Ford, 23, of Arkansas Street in Morgan City, was arrested at a business in Bayou Vista at 6:22 p.m. Sunday on warrant for theft. The complaint stems from an investigation of a theft at a lounge in Amelia.
—Donna Branson, 21, of Arkansas Street in Morgan City, was arrested at a business in Bayou Vista at 6:22 p.m. Sunday on warrant for theft. The complaint stems from an investigation of a theft at a lounge in Amelia.
Deputies had investigated the theft of money and merchandise at the business where Branson had worked, Hebert said. Both were jailed with no bail set yet.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Gregory M. Parker, 20, of the 1500 block of Bernice Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:01 p.m. Saturday for simple battery. Parker was jailed on $319 bail.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the following arrest:
—Kevin Roberson, 26, of Terrebonne Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 6:34 p.m. Friday on a warrant for 16th Judicial District Court for failure to appear on the charges of seatbelt violation and no driver’s license. Roberson was arrested on warrants for the City Court of Morgan City for failure to appear on the charges of no driver’s license first offense, no driver’s license second offense and seatbelt violation first offense.
Roberson was charged with resisting an officer by giving false information. Roberson was jailed with no bail set yet.
