Arrests reports

Five Berwick residents were arrested Monday night after a drug bust at a California Street residence, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Ricky Glynn, 51, of the 200 block of California Street in Berwick, was arrested at 9:10 p.m. Monday for possession of synthetic cannabinoids, third offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.
—Joshua LaCoste, 39, of the 200 block of California Street in Berwick, was arrested at 9:10 p.m. Monday for possession of marijuana third offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.
—Megan Fisher, 26, of the 200 block of California Street in Berwick, was arrested at 9:10 p.m. Monday for possession of synthetic cannabinoids and possession of drug paraphernalia.
—Eric Leleaux, 48, of the 3300 block of Fourth Street in Berwick, was arrested at 9:10 p.m. Monday for possession of synthetic cannabinoids third offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.
—Eric Leleaux Jr., 21, of the 3300 block of Fourth Street in Berwick, was arrested at 9:10 p.m. Monday for possession of synthetic cannabinoids.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division detectives, with the assistance of the Berwick Police Department, went to a residence in the 200 block of California Street to conduct an investigation into a complaint of illegal drug activity. Upon arrival, detectives made contact with the tenants of the residence and received consent to search the location, Hebert said.
Detectives located synthetic marijuana, marijuana, and rolling papers inside the residence. During the investigation, detectives learned that the people at the residence were smoking synthetic cannabinoids prior to detectives’ arrival, Hebert said. Fisher and Eric Leleaux Jr. were released on summonses to appear in court on Nov. 24. Eric Leleaux, Glynn, and LaCoste were jailed with no bail set.
Hebert reported responding to 40 complaints in the parish.
Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks reported the following arrests:
—Ernest W. Dupont, 17, of Fig Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:40 p.m. Monday for possession of Schedule I marijuana and violation of uniformed controlled dangerous substance law.
—Taylor M. Richard, 17, of Poplar Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:40 p.m. Monday for possession of Schedule 1 marijuana, possession of Schedule 1 synthetic marijuana and violation of uniform controlled dangerous substance law.
Narcotics detectives received information of suspicious subjects walking in the area of Franklin Street in Morgan City. Upon arrival in the area, narcotics detectives came into contact with Dupont and Richard. During the investigation, officers located suspected marijuana on Dupont and suspected synthetic marijuana along with marijuana on Richard, the chief said. The area they were located in was within 1,000 feet of a school zone. Dupont and Richard were jailed.
—Jeffrey Watts, 28, of North Bayou Black Drive in Gibson, was arrested at 5:32 p.m. Monday for reckless operation of a moving vehicle.
Officers in the area of Fifth Street near Louisiana Street observed a motorcycle being driven in a reckless manner. The operator of the bike was observed driving on one wheel and then sped away at an estimated 60 mph to 70 mph in a 20 mph zone, Banks said.
The area was observed to have several bystanders and children walking and playing in the area. The driver was eventually stopped in the area of Myrtle Street and Railroad Avenue by officers and detained. Watts was identified as the driver and jailed.
—Johnny Deberry, 59, of Railroad Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:21 a.m. Monday on a warrant for failure to pay a fine and a warrant for probation violation.
Officers located Deberry in the area of First Street in Morgan City, and he was jailed.
—David D. Brown, 43, of Todd Street in Patterson, was arrested at 2:40 p.m. Monday for improper display of a license plate, operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, a warrant for failure to appear for stop sign violation, a warrant for failure to appear for driving under suspension, a warrant for failure to appear for expired license plate, a Thibodaux Police Department warrant for failure to appear for driving under suspension and a Hahnville warrant for failure to appear for traffic violations.
An officer observed a vehicle with an improperly displayed license plate and stopped the vehicle on La. 182 to investigate. The driver, Brown, was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Brown was also found to be wanted on several outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department as well as both Thibodaux Police and Hahnville Police departments. He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
—David T. Francois, 42, of Grove Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 6:04 p.m. Monday on a warrant on a hold for probation and parole.
Officers located Francois on Brashear Avenue and he was jailed.
—Willis R. Junifer, 55, of Federal Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 1:47 a.m. today on a warrant for probation violation.
Junifer was located on Victor II Boulevard. He was jailed.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Sharthine Blackburn, 44, of the 400 block of Cleveland Street in Patterson, was arrested at 4:11 a.m. today for driving while intoxicated first offense and careless operation with an accident. Blackburn was jailed with no bail set.
—Joseph Lee Hart, 32, of the 400 block of Second Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:01 a.m. Monday for contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile and disturbing the peace by fighting. Hart was jailed on $787 bail.
—Carlos Payton, 39, of the 100 block of Lipari Street in Patterson, was arrested at 12:01 a.m. Monday for disturbing the peace. Payton was released on $413 bail.
—Trevor James Tauzin, 18, of the 100 block of Bayou Vista Drive in Thibodaux, was arrested at 2:40 a.m. Sunday for speeding 75 mph in a 55 mph zone, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Tauzin was released.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
