Mayon, of the 200 block of Grey Eagle Road 1 in Charenton, was arrested at 11:58 a.m. Tuesday for aggravated rape, oral sexual battery and indecent behavior with juveniles.
Detectives began an investigation into a complaint of possible carnal knowledge of a juvenile received on Sept. 18. During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that Mayon had sex with a 12-year-old girl on several occasions, Sheriff Mark Hebert said.
Mayon surrendered to detectives at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin and was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

The warrant stems from an investigation into a complaint received Sept. 9 of shoplifting from a store in Bayou Vista. The detective assigned to the case collected video surveillance of a subject seen placing items in a shopping cart and then leaving the store without paying. After disseminating the video to neighboring law enforcement agencies, the detective received information from the Thibodaux Police Department regarding a possible identity, Hebert said.
