A 50-year-old Patterson man was charged Wednesday in a March 3 altercation where he is accused of striking another man with a glass ashtray during an argument, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Earl Allen Jr., 50, of the 100 block of Emy Lane in Patterson, was arrested at 12:12 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for aggravated battery.
On March 3, a deputy was dispatched to Teche Regional Medical Center in reference to a report of a battery. During the investigation, the deputy determined that Allen struck a man in the head with a glass ashtray during an argument at a residence in the Patterson area, Hebert said.
The victim was treated for the gash he received on his face and later released, Hebert said. The deputy obtained a warrant for Allen’s arrest. Allen came to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin and was jailed with no bail set.
Hebert reported responding to 34 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests relating to east St. Mary Parish:
—Gary Thibodeaux, 53, of the 100 block of Bayou View Drive in Baldwin, was arrested at 9:06 a.m. Wednesday on a warrant for disturbing the peace and simple criminal damage to property. A deputy investigating a complaint of damage to property at a residence on Grandwood Drive in Patterson identified Thibodeaux as the person who used a key to scratch a female victim’s vehicle, Hebert said.
The deputy also learned during the investigation that Thibodeaux was yelling during the early morning hours of Sunday causing a disturbance in the neighborhood. The deputy obtained a warrant for Thibodeaux’s arrest. Thibodeaux came to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin and was subsequently transported to the parish jail for booking. He was later released on a summons to appear in court Jan. 26.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Jeremy Hall, 27, of the 2600 block of Fourth Street in Berwick, was arrested at 9:58 p.m. Wednesday for domestic abuse battery and aggravated criminal damage to property. Hall was jailed.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrest:
—Stacey Grubb, 34, of the 100 block of Shady Grove in Patterson, was arrested at 9:54 p.m. Wednesday for possession of drug paraphernalia second offense. Grubb was jailed with no bail set yet.
Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks reported no arrests.
