Arrests reports

Two Bayou L’Ourse men were arrested Wednesday in Amelia after a St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a report of possible illegal drug activity in a hotel room, Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Steven Crawford, 23, of the 500 block of Aristile Road in Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested at 4:53 p.m. Wednesday for possession of Schedule II methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of Schedule IV alprazolam, possession of Schedule IV clonazepam, possession of Schedule IV Soma and possession of Schedule II hydrocodone.
—Bradley Kelly, 24, of the 100 block of Felicia Street in Bayou L’Ourse, was arrested at 4:53 p.m. Wednesday for illegal carrying of weapons, possession of Schedule II hydrocodone, possession of Schedule IV alprazolam and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance.
A deputy responded to a report of possible illegal drug activity in a room at a hotel in Amelia. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Crawford and Kelly. During a search of their room, the deputy located several pills inside a plastic bag on the floor, Hebert said.
Continuing the investigation, the deputy also located methamphetamine in the room and a loaded handgun concealed on Kelly, the sheriff said. Crawford and Kelly were jailed. During the booking process, additional pills were located on Kelly, the sheriff said. No bail is set.
Hebert reported responding to 40 complaints and reported the following arrests relating to east St. Mary Parish:
—Melanie Nowlin, 42, of the 200 block of Cliffwood Drive in Houma, was arrested at 4:47 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for theft of goods. Nowlin was transported from the Terrebonne Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville on the warrant. No bail is set.
—Charlie Jones, of the 100 block of Lakeside Parkway in Amelia, was arrested at 10 p.m. Wednesday for disturbing the peace intoxication. A deputy responded to a report of a suspicious person at a residence on Lake Palourde Road in Amelia.
The deputy made contact with Jones who was observed to be in an intoxicated state. The deputy learned that Jones was causing a disturbance at the residence. Jones was transported to the parish jail for booking. Jones was later released on a summons to appear in court Jan. 26.
Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks reported the following arrests:
—Brandon Collier, 18, of Morgan City, was arrested at 8:42 a.m. Wednesday for no seat belt and a warrant for failure to appear for simple battery.
While on patrol, Morgan City police observed a vehicle being driven by Collier who was not wearing a seat belt.
Upon conducting a traffic stop it was learned that Collier was wanted on an outstanding warrant. Collier was jailed.
—Carlitha Brown, 34, of Morgan City, was arrested at 10:34 a.m. Wednesday on a warrant for failure to appear to pay fine for simple battery and possession of marijuana.
Police were dispatched to a residence on Franklin Street in regard to possible narcotics use. Upon arrival, officers came in contact with Brown sitting in front of the residence. Upon investigating, officers learned that Brown was wanted on outstanding warrants. She was found to possess a cigarette containing possible marijuana and was jailed, Banks said.
—Irving Clark, 25, of Morgan City, was arrested at 12:40 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for failure to appear for arraignment for theft.
Police came into contact with Clark in Morgan City on Railroad Avenue and East Boulevard. Officers knew that Clark was wanted on outstanding warrants. Clark was jailed.
—Brandon Nelson, 27, of Napoleonville, was arrested at 4:22 p.m. Wednesday for disturbing the peace, no driver’s license, switched license plate and no proof of insurance.
Police were dispatched to Brashear Avenue and Seventh Street in regard to a battery. Officers learned that the suspect left and was being followed. The suspect was headed north on Seventh Street. Police were able to locate the suspect and complainant on Federal Avenue and Onstead Street.
During the investigation, officers learned that the actual battery occurred in Lafourche Parish. Nelson was told to lower his voice, which he refused, Banks said. Officers later learned that he was driving without a license, switched license plates and no proof of insurance, the chief said. Nelson was jailed.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
