Arrests reports

A 35-year-old Morgan City man was charged this morning with domestic abuse battery by strangulation after being accused of grabbing a woman by the neck and slamming her to the ground, Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks said in a news release.
—Victory Ho, 35, of Morgan City, was arrested at 12:51 a.m. today for domestic abuse battery strangulation.
Police were dispatched to a residence on Fig Street in regards to a domestic disturbance. When officers arrived the victim stated that she and Ho had gotten into a verbal altercation, Banks said. When she decided to leave, Ho grabbed her by the neck and slammed her to the ground, Banks said.
Officers observed visible marks on the victim consistent to her statement, the chief said. Officers were able to located Ho inside the residence where he was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Banks reported the following arrests:
—Robert Mulligan, 62, of Morgan City, was arrested at 4:21 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for contempt of court.
Police were in the area of Fifth and Greenwood streets and noticed Mulligan in the area. Mulligan was found to be wanted on a warrant and was jailed.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 33 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Mia Blair, 17, of the 800 block of U.S. 90 West in Patterson, was arrested at 4:27 p.m. Wednesday for possession of Schedule I marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of Schedule I synthetic cannabinoids, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
—Blake Wain, 18, of the 500 block of Watkins Street in Berwick, was arrested at 4:27 p.m. Wednesday for possession of Schedule I marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of Schedule I synthetic cannabinoids, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
—A juvenile female, 13, of Morgan City, was arrested at 5:56 p.m. Wednesday for possession of Schedule I marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of Schedule I synthetic cannabinoids and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Narcotics detectives received information that Blair and Wain were selling illegal drugs at a motel in the Bayou Vista area. Detectives made contact with them and a juvenile. Detectives received consent to search their room and located several bags of marijuana, synthetic cannabinoids, and items of drug paraphernalia, Hebert said. Blair and Wain were jailed with no bail set. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
—Effie Wiltz, 30, of the 600 block of Sixth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:19 p.m. Wednesday for introduction of contraband into a penal institution. While being booked into the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, a deputy located Tylenol and Benadryl pills on Wiltz. No bail is set.
—Harvey D. Hamlett Jr., 45, of the 100 block of Rizzo Street in Patterson, was arrested at 8:38 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of failure to return leased movable, two warrants for failure to appear on the charge of issuing worthless checks and a warrant for failure to appear for contempt hearing.
A deputy located Hamlett at his residence on the warrants. Hamlett was jailed with no bail set.
—Jonathan Killingsworth, 24, of Marin Lane in Patterson, was arrested at 12:57 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Morgan City for criminal trespass.
—James M. Kelly, 39, of the 700 block of Gilchrist Lane in Ricohoc, was arrested at 4:27 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Morgan City for criminal trespass.
A detective investigating a complaint of trespassing on a Patterson levee identified Killingsworth and Kelly as the two subjects who were riding in a truck on the levee without permission. Both were released on summons to appear in court Feb. 10.
—Candice D. Givens, 41, of the 100 block of Emy Lane in Patterson, was arrested at 7:42 p.m. Wednesday for violation of the parish leash law. A deputy responding to a complaint of trespassing learned that two dogs, belonging to Givens, were on the loose in the neighborhood without a leash. Givens was released on a summons to appear in court Feb. 10.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Raymond Gautreaux, 21, of the 100 block of Bridge Road in Patterson, was arrested at 2:43 a.m. today on a warrant for another jurisdiction. Gautreaux was jailed on $500 bail.
—Benjamin John Justillian, 22, of the 700 block of Duke Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:43 a.m. today on a warrant for another jurisdiction. Justillian was jailed with no bail set.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
