A Morgan City man was arrested on a variety of charges following a hit and run accident in Berwick Sunday.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard said Corey Stevens, 28, of Onstead Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:30 p.m. Sunday after a hit and run accident was reported at the corner of Pacific and Third streets.
When officers located the vehicle driven by Stevens, he was charged with driving while intoxicated, hit and run, driving under suspension, careless operation with a crash, possession of Schedule II (Oxycodone) and Schedule IV (Xanax) and on a 16th Judicial District Court warrant for failure to appear for criminal mischief and driving under suspension.
He remained jailed this morning with no bail set.
Richard also reported the following arrests:
—Ronald Davis, 38, of Grace Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 9 a.m. Friday on a 2009 St. Mary Parish failure to appear warrant for driving under suspension.
Davis entered the police department concerning an unrelated issue, and the warrant was discovered. He posted $5,000 bail and was released.
—Stephen Ditullio, 51, of the 200 block of California Street in Berwick, was arrested at 8:50 p.m. Sunday for domestic abuse battery and disturbing the peace intoxicated.
Officers responded to a disturbance complaint at the residence where Ditullio struck a female. He remains jailed with no bail set.
Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
—Tenika Andrews, 32, of the 2500 block of Elm Street in Lake Charles, was arrested at 6:43 p.m. Friday for domestic abuse battery.
Deputies responded to a 911 call of a disturbance that occurred outside of a vehicle parked on U.S. 90 in the Centerville area. Deputies located the suspect vehicle travelling in the Franklin area and conducted a traffic stop. During the course of the investigation, deputies learned that Andrews punched a male victim during an argument. No bail is set.
—Christopher Miller, 29, of the 100 block of Township Lane in Lafayette, was arrested at 3:11 p.m. Friday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of Schedule I (marijuana). A deputy transported Miller from the Lafayette Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville on the warrant. Bail is set at $5,000.
—Alonda Turner, 38, of the 2600 block of Fourth Street in Berwick, was arrested at 5:17 p.m. Friday on two warrants for issuing worthless checks. A deputy conducting a traffic stop in Bayou Vista made contact with Turner and learned of the active warrants for her arrest. Turner was released on a summons to appear in court Feb. 10, 2015.
—Beau Boudreaux, 36, of the 200 block of Mars Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 6:36 a.m. Saturday on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. While investigating an unrelated complaint, a deputy made contact with Boudreaux and learned of the active warrant for his arrest. The deputy released Boudreaux on a summons to appear in court Feb. 10, 2015.
—Earl E. Allen Jr., 50, of the 100 block of Emy Lane in Patterson, was arrested at 2:47 a.m. Sunday for domestic abuse battery and disturbing the peace.
—Candice Givens, 41, of the 100 block of Emy Lane in Patterson, was arrested at 2:47 a.m. Sunday for domestic abuse battery and disturbing the peace.
A deputy responded to a complaint of a disturbance at a business on La. 182 in Amelia. Allen and Givens were arguing when they committed battery on each other. Bail was not set for either.
—Mark Evans, 50, of the 2400 block of Cypress Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:36 p.m. Sunday for domestic abuse battery (child endangerment).
—Doresa M. Bland, 24, of the 2400 block of Cypress Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:28 p.m. Sunday for domestic abuse battery (child endangerment).
A deputy responded to a disturbance in progress at a residence on Cypress Street in Morgan City. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Evans and Bland committed a battery on each other during an argument. Several children were present in the home during the altercation.
Bland was released on a summons to appear in court on Feb. 10, 2015. Evans was held with no bail set.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Brent Williams, 48, of the 200 block of Chateau Place in Lafayette, was arrested at 1:34 p.m. Friday for driving while intoxicated first offense, general speed law, reckless operation, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Williams was jailed with no bail set yet.
—Joshua Francois, 23, of the 200 block of Greenwood Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:55 a.m. Saturday for suspended driver’s license, disturbing the peace, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia. No bail is set yet.
—Jamie T. Scarbourgh, 48, of the 1000 block of Michael Street in Patterson, was arrested at 5:48 p.m. Saturday for simple battery involving domestic abuse. Scarbourgh was jailed with no bail set yet.
—William J. Carr, 25, of the 1700 block of Fern Street in Patterson, was arrested at 2:22 a.m. Sunday for disturbing the peace by fighting and on warrants for other jurisdictions. Carr was jailed on $323 bail.
—Mark Smith, 50, of the 1400 block of Myrtle Street in Patterson, was arrested at 2:09 a.m. Sunday for disturbing the peace by fighting and resisting an officer by flight. Smith was jailed on $684 bail.
—Pablo C. Fonte, 57, of the 300 block of Veterans Boulevard in Patterson, was arrested at 1:32 a.m. today for disturbing the peace by intoxication and simple battery. Fonte was jailed on $642 bail.
