A 26-year-old Patterson man was charged with armed robbery Friday stemming from a Sept. 19 incident where he was accused of hitting a man with an object and stealing a ring, Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks said in a news release.
—Courtland Fullwood, 26, of Patterson, was arrested at 10:57 a.m. Friday on a warrant for armed robbery.
The warrant alleges that on Sept. 19 Fullwood encountered the victim, hit him with an object and then removed a ring off the victim’s hand valued at $300, Banks said. Fullwood was jailed.
—Preston Hoskins, 23, of Morgan City, was arrested at 3:21 p.m. Sunday for illegal discharge of a firearm in city limits.
Police were dispatched to the area of Adams Street in regards to gun shots heard in the area. Contact was made with Hoskins in the area, who stated that he had gotten into a verbal dispute with his brother. He stated that he did fire a shot at his brother’s vehicle, Banks said. He stated his brother then left the area. Hoskins was jailed.
—Jose Hernandez, 37, of Morgan City, arrested at 1:21 a.m. today for aggravated battery.
Police were dispatched to a local bar on Victor II Boulevard in regards to a disturbance. Officers learned that Hernandez had allegedly struck someone in the face with a metal object, Banks said. The victim was able to give a description of Hernandez, who was later located a short time later in the area. He was jailed.
—Geronimo Martinez, 28, of Morgan City, was arrested at 1:44 a.m. today for aggravated battery.
Police were dispatched to a bar on Victor II Boulevard in regard to a disturbance. Officers learned that a large disturbance had occurred, Banks said. Martinez was accused of possessing a knife and cutting a woman in the palm of her hand, Banks said. The victim was able to give a description of Martinez and the vehicle he was driving. Martinez was later located in a parking lot on La. 182. He was jailed.
—Mariah Grimes, 21, of Morgan City, was arrested at 1:21 a.m. today for disturbing the peace fighting.
Police were dispatched to a bar on Victor II Boulevard in regard to a disturbance. When officers arrived, it was learned that Grimes and another female had engaged in a fist fight, Banks said. She and the other female were jailed.
—Patrica Molina, 50, of Morgan City, was arrested at 1:44 a.m. today for disturbing the peace fighting.
Police were dispatched to a bar on Victor II Boulevard in regard to a disturbance. Officers learned that Molina and another female had engaged in a fist fight. She and the other female were jailed.
—Marco Reyes-Ortiz, 17, of Morgan City, was arrested at 1:07 a.m. today for disturbing the peace
Police were dispatched to a bar on Victor II Boulevard in regard to a disturbance. Officers encountered Ortiz who was very loud and belligerent, Banks said. Ortiz was told several times to lower his voice and to refrain from using profanities, the chief said. He did not comply, Banks said. He was jailed.
—Omar Hernandez, 19, of Morgan City; was arrested at 1:05 a.m. today for illegal carrying of a weapon
Police were dispatched to the area of Victor II Boulevard for a bar disturbance. Hernandez was patted down and officers located brass knuckles in his pocket, Banks said.
He was jailed.
