Bayou Vista shoplifting, battery suspect arrested

After requesting the public’s help in locating a shoplifter Tuesday, St. Mary Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested a Bayou Vista teenager.
Keith Tillman, 17, of the 100 block of Patty Lane in Bayou Vista, was arrested on Tuesday at 12:27 p.m. for theft of goods and simple battery.
At about 6 p.m. Oct. 22, St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of shoplifting at the Bayou Vista Walmart.
Sheriff Mark Hebert said deputies were informed that a shoplifter pushed and attempted to punch an employee before running from the store.
After releasing his photo to the public, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office received several tips that included information that led to the identification, location and arrest of Tillman, Hebert said.
Tillman was released after posting $1,500 bail.
Hebert also reported the following arrests:
—Ciera Thomas, 24, of the 100 block of Judy Lane in Patterson, was arrested at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for theft of goods. Thomas turned herself in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville. She was released on $1,000 bail.
—Dionne M. Hoj, 46, of the 1100 block of Fourth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:39 p.m. Tuesday for theft of goods. 
—Tyler Lantier, 20, of the 1100 block of Fourth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:39 p.m. Tuesday for theft of goods. 
A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista where the deputy was informed that Hoj and Lantier were seen concealing items in their purses before attempting to leave the store without paying for the items. Both women were released on summons to appear in court.
—Male, 16, of Amelia, was arrested at 7:02 p.m. Tuesday for ungovernable juvenile. While speaking with the juvenile, he became argumentative, refusing to go indoors for the evening. The juvenile was released to a guardian.
—Thomas Edgar Steely Jr., 37, of the 1400 block of Front Street in Morgan City, was arrested Tuesday on a warrant for probation violation and failure to appear for probation review. A deputy conducting a traffic stop on U.S. 90 in Bayou Vista learned of the active warrants for his arrest. Steely remained jailed this morning with no bail set.
—Carl Beecher, 55, of the 100 block of Beadle Street in Amelia, was arrested at 11:02 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of careless operation of a vehicle. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area made contact with Beecher who was walking on La. 182. Beecher remained jailed this morning in lieu of $298.50 bail.
Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch reported the following arrests:
—Quincy Johnson, 19, of Wren Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:04 p.m. Tuesday for simple battery, resisting an officer and disturbing the peace.
—Kristin Renee Hull, 23, of Wren Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:33 p.m. Tuesday for remaining where forbidden and disturbing the peace. 
Officers were dispatched to Lawrence Park in Morgan City to investigate a report of a man striking a woman inside the park. Witnesses said the man struck a female twice on the side of the head with such force as to knock a baby stroller over. A toddler was in the stroller, Crouch said.
Johnson was detained and, after questioning, placed under arrest. He then began to use loud, profane language creating a disturbance. He was physically restrained and placed in the rear of a police unit, the chief said. Johnson remained jailed this morning on $1,476 bail. 
A short time later, the Morgan City Police Department received a complaint about the female. Kristin Hull returned to Lawrence Park and began to verbally threaten patrons in the park whom she alleged caused the arrest, Crouch said.
Officers located her at Lawrence Park. Crouch said she refused to cooperate with officers’ requests to stop the disturbance and continued to use loud and profane threatening language towards others inside the park. She was asked to leave but refused.
She remained jailed this morning on $634 bail.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrests:
—Tommy D. Donati, 31, of the 100 block of Carter Lane in Berwick, was arrested Tuesday at 3:24 p.m. on River Road in Berwick for driving under suspension and on a Terrebonne Parish warrant for failure to appear for a seatbelt violation. Donati remained jailed in Berwick on $1,000 bail here and $300 bail for Terrebonne Parish.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Yvonne Vilo, 55, of the 900 block of Washington Street in Patterson, was arrested at 12:44 p.m. Tuesday on a fugitive warrant out of Jefferson County, Texas, for possession of marijuana. Vilo remained jailed this morning with no bail set.
—Stacey L. Grubb, 33, of the 100 block of Shady Grove in Patterson, was arrested at 9:27 p.m. Tuesday for possession of a Schedule I drug, possession of a Schedule II drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. Grubb remained jailed this morning with no bail set.
