Raynod Christopher Harmon, 30, of Franklin, was killed on U.S. 90 Saturday morning when his motorcycle was struck by Sarah Fangue, 21, of Patterson, at the intersection of Catherine Street Saturday morning, Police Chief Patrick LaSalle said.
Fangue, who was driving a 2007 Chevrolet pickup when she struck the westbound 2011 Kawasaki motorcycle, was ticketed with failure to yield with an accident, LaSalle said. The accident remains under investigation.
A caller to the Patterson police department at 11:29 a.m. said there was an accident with a possible fatality, LaSalle said. Harmon was under the pickup truck when police arrived and was given cardio-pulmonary resuscitation until his transport to Teche Regional Medical Center by Acadian ambulance, LaSalle said. The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital at 11:54 a.m. LaSalle said.
The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet. Fangue, who was buckled up, was transported to Acadian hospital with undetermined injuries, LaSalle said. He was unable to provide the injuries Harmon received.
LaSalle said speed did not appear to be a factor in the accident.
