Detectives investigating boat theft in Bayou Vista; occurred around 3 a.m. Monday

St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives are asking for the public's help in an investigation into a boat theft that occurred Monday morning in Bayou Vista.
The sheriff's office received a report of a theft of a boat and trailer stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Jupiter Street in Bayou Vista Monday morning, the release stated. According to surveillance video collected from the neighborhood, the boat and trailer was taken at about 3 a.m. Monday.
The perpetrators traveled in a light colored pick-up truck from Jupiter Street to Delmar Road and then made a left turn onto U.S. 90 heading east with the stolen property, the release stated. The boat is described as a 24-foot Carolina Skiff outfitted with a 250-horsepower Yamaha outboard motor. Anyone with information on the truck, the suspect or suspects involved in the theft, the whereabouts of the boat and trailer or other information about the crime may contact the Criminal Investigation Division at 985-384-1622 or by email at crimewatch@stmaryso.com.
