Detectives investigating gunshots heard in Amelia

Detectives are investigating several reports of gunshots being heard late Monday night in Amelia, according to a St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office news release.
At 11:32 p.m. Monday, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office received multiple reports of gun fire being heard in Amelia in the area of Lake Palourde Road and Friendship Alley. Deputies in the area immediately responded to the location and began an investigation which is being continued by detectives this morning, the release said.
