Houston man charged with aggravated flight from an officer

A 30-year-old Houston man was arrested in Morgan City Sunday after he fled from an officer attempting to stop a vehicle for speeding, Morgan City Police Chief James Blair said in a news release.
—Juan Pineda-Manuel-Acheeta, 30, of Houston, Texas, was arrested at 1:57 a.m. Sunday on the charges of aggravated flight from an officer and no driver’s license.
A patrol officer in the area of U.S. 90 observed a vehicle speeding. The officer activated his emergency lights for the vehicle to stop, but the vehicle continued, Blair said. The vehicle eventually came to a stop in the area of Allison Street.
The driver exited the vehicle and tried to flee from officers, Blair said. The driver, Pineda-Manuel-Acheeta, was apprehended and determined to not have a driver’s license. He was jailed.
Morgan City Police Chief James Blair reported the following arrests:
—Tiffany Baumgartner, 28, of Federal Avenue in Morgan City, at 6:12 p.m. Friday on a St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant charging her with three counts of failure to appear. Baumgartner was located at her residence on Federal Avenue and jailed on the warrant.
—Willie C. Lee, 46, of Seventh Street in Franklin, at 10:01 p.m. Friday on the charges of resisting an officer, possession of drug paraphernalia and traffic laws apply to persons riding bicycles and no reflectors.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Ditch Avenue in regards to a suspicious person in the area riding a bicycle. Officers located the person in the area of Ditch Avenue and Seventh Street.
As officers approached, he fled, but was subdued a short time later. Officers located drug paraphernalia on the person, identified as Lee. Officers observed the bicycle that Lee was riding did not have the proper lighting. Lee was jailed.
—James Naverre, 19, of Apple Street in Morgan City, at 7 p.m. Friday on a warrant charging him with probation violation. Naverre turned himself in to the Morgan City Police Department on the warrant. Naverre was jailed.
—Sheila A. Thomas, 48, of Duson, at 12:52 a.m. Saturday on the charges of driving under suspension and failure to signal.
A patrol officer in the area of Fifth Street and Brashear Avenue observed a vehicle with improper lighting. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Thomas, was determined to have a suspended driver’s license. Thomas was jailed.
—Michelle L. Vedros, 25, of La 182 in Morgan City, at 6:25 p.m. Saturday on a warrant charging her with possession of Schedule I marijuana.
Vedros was located at her residence and arrested on the warrant, which stems from a July 2 incident where suspected marijuana was found in her residence. Vedros was jailed.
—Ameedah Charles, 30, of Berwick, at 11:54 a.m. Sunday on the charges of simple criminal damage to property and attempted theft of goods.
Officers were dispatched to a supermarket on La. 182 in regards to someone damaging items in the store. When officers arrived, they were told an employee witnessed a person switch the price labels on four packs of meat, Blair said. Management had detained the person, Charles, until officers arrived.
According to reports, Charles admitted to switching the labels to pay a cheaper price, Blair said. Charles was jailed.
—John E. Aucoin, 45, of Cypress Street in Morgan City, at 3:16 p.m. Sunday on a Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant for parole violation and on a warrant for four counts of failure to appear.
Aucoin was located at his residence on Cypress Street. Aucoin held an active warrant for the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Sixth Ward City Court. Aucoin was jailed.
—Benjamin T. Weaver, 39, of Ninth Street in Morgan City, at 7:21 p.m. Sunday on the charge of appearing in public intoxicated.
Officers located Weaver in the area of Second Street and Railroad Avenue. Officers observed Weaver appeared to be intoxicated. As they approached him, they could smell an odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath, Blair said. Weaver was jailed.
—Corey Rentrope, 35, of Robin Street in Morgan City, at 9 p.m. Sunday on the charges of possession of alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle and license plate light required and on warrants charging him with probation violation and failure to pay probation fee.
A patrol officer in the area of North Everett and Sixth streets observed a vehicle with improper lighting and stopped the vehicle to investigate. Upon making contact with the driver, Rentrope, the officer observed an open can of alcoholic beverage in the vehicle, Blair said. He was jailed.
—Justin Adams, 37, of Duke Street in Morgan City, at 11:29 p.m. Sunday on a St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant charging him with two counts of criminal neglect of family and possession of drug paraphernalia. Adams was located in the area of Ditch Avenue and La. 182. Adams was jailed on the warrant.
—Blake McNemar, 26, of La. 182 in Morgan City, at 11:29 p.m. Sunday on an Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant for two counts of failure to appear. McNemar was located in the area of La. 182 and Ditch Avenue. He was jailed on the warrant.
—Jermey G. Singleton, 40, of Houston, Texas, at 1:36 a.m. today on a warrant for driving under suspension.
A patrol officer noticed a vehicle in the area of La. 182 and the Greenwood Overpass with improper lighting. A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver, Singleton was determined to have an active warrant. He was jailed.
—William Smith, 47, of Newellton, at 3:41 a.m. today on the charges of license plate light required, driving under suspension and on Tensas Parish Sheriff’s Office warrants for criminal damage to property and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.
A patrol officer noticed a vehicle in the area of U.S. 90 near the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard exit with improper lighting. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Smith, was determined to have outstanding warrants and had a suspended driver’s license. He was jailed.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 144 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Barell J. Billiot, 44, of the 800 block of Elder Street in Houma, at 7:49 a.m. Friday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of driving under suspension. A deputy conducted a traffic stop on U.S. 90 in Siracusa.
The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Billiot, and located an active warrant for his arrest. Billiot was booked and later released on $250 bail.
—Trey Robin, 18, of the 200 block of Coachman Drive in Houma, at 7:36 p.m. Friday on the charge of criminal trespass.
—Jacoby Phillips, 18, of the 900 block of Poplar Street in Morgan City, at 7:36 p.m. Friday on the charge of criminal trespass.
—A juvenile male, 16, of Jeanerette, at 7:36 p.m. Friday on the charge of criminal trespass.
—Drake Crochet, 18, of the 200 block of Onstead Street in Morgan City, at 7:36 p.m. Friday on the charge of criminal trespass.
A deputy responded to a complaint of trespassing on Victoria Riverside Road. The deputy made contact with the subjects listed above and learned that they were trespassing on a nearby bridge. The deputy released the juvenile to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings. Robin, Phillips and Crochet were released on summons to appear in court Oct. 14.
—Davonte J. Williams, 23, of the 400 block of Bowman Street in Morgan City, at 9:09 p.m. Friday on the charge of entering contraband into a penal institution. Williams turned himself in on a drug court sanction. During a search of Williams, a jailer located two small rolled cigars containing marijuana, Hebert said. No bail is set.
—Christopher Willoughby, 23, of the 100 block of Jupiter Street in Bayou Vista, at 10:33 p.m. Friday on the charge of domestic abuse battery.
—Dylan Willoughby, 21, of the 100 block of Jupiter Street in Bayou Vista, at 10:33 p.m. Friday on the charge of domestic abuse battery.
A deputy responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in Bayou Vista. During the investigation, the deputy learned that Dylan Willoughby and Christopher Willoughby committed a battery upon each other during an argument, Hebert said. Both were jailed with no bail set.
—Jeremy Arclis, 35, of the 400 block of Cleveland Street in Patterson, at 1:41 a.m. Sunday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family and on a warrant for probation violation. A deputy observed a man walking on U.S. 90 in the Ricohoc area and made contact with him. The deputy identified the man as Arclis and located two active warrants for his arrest. Arclis was jailed with bail set at $10,027.39.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Lynn A. Richard, 42, of the 100 block of Vista Village in Morgan City, at 10:54 p.m. Thursday on the charges of DWI first offense, speeding 50 mph in a 35 mph zone and open container in vehicle. Richard was jailed with no bail set.
—Cornel Woods, 42, of the 2700 block of Albany Street in Kenner, at 1:04 a.m. Friday on the charges of DWI first offense, suspended driver’s license and possession of marijuana first offense. Woods was jailed with no bail set.
—Jeremy Jamal Mouton, 28, of the 100 block of Roy’s Lane in Centerville, at 12:56 a.m. Sunday on the charges of possession of marijuana, possession of Schedule I ecstasy and open container. Mouton was jailed with no bail set.
—Brian Kell, 43, of the 100 block of Muggah Street in Patterson, at 7:05 p.m. Sunday on the charges of DWI first offense, failure to yield with an accident and open container. Kell was jailed with no bail set.
—Davin L. Dinger, 19, of the 600 block of Leo Drive in Patterson, at 1:57 a.m. today on the charge of DWI second offense. Dinger was jailed with no bail set.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Tyler Saujon, 27, of Lagonda Street in Morgan City, at 7:53 p.m. Saturday on the charges of speeding 68 mph in a 35 mph zone and reckless operation of a motor vehicle. Saujon was released on bail.
