Louisiana State Police online operation into human sex trafficking, soliciting juveniles nets 9 arrests

Nine people have been arrested for charges ranging from computer aided solicitation of a minor to prostitution by Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit, a news release from Tfc. Stephen Hammons said.
The arrests stemmed from a weekend undercover operation focused on human sex trafficking and the online solicitation of juveniles.  Detectives were assisted in their investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigations, Homeland Security Investigations and Lafayette Metro Narcotics.   
 From Friday thorugh Saturday, Hammons said detectives conducted an operation in the Lafayette area that focused on combating the sexual exploitation of children, prostitution and human trafficking.  During the operation detectives worked in various undercover capacities through online networking websites.  They were able to identify nine people who requested to meet adults and/or children for various sexual purposes.  In all of the cases the suspects offered money for sex from the undercover detectives.  
 The news release identified the following people arrested Friday.
Shante Monique McClain, Oklahoma City, Okla., 23, prostitution.
Fallon L. Childress, Lafayette, 28, prostitution.
Desrelle Lastrapes, Lafayette, 23, prostitution and a narcotics warrant from Texas.
Jody Lee, Lafayette, 28, prostitution.
Charlotte Berthelot, Lafayette, 37, prostitution.
Carl F. White, Jr., Lafayette, 32, promoting prostitution.
Joseph J. Ventress, Lafayette, 26, pandering and possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine.
 The following people were arrested Saturday.
Stewart Michael Brown, Lafayette, 29, computer aided solicitation of a minor, indecent behavior with a juvenile and prostitution.
Liwei Zhao, Lafayette, 24, computer aided solicitation of a minor; and prostitution.
