Man arrested on carnal knowledge warrant

A 19-year-old Morgan City man was booked Thursday on a warrant charging him with carnal knowledge of a 14-year-old girl.
—Jacolbi Francois, 19, of Garber Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:13 p.m. Thursday on a Morgan City police warrant charging him with felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
Francois turned himself in on the warrant at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Bail is set at $50,000.
Hebert reported responding to 33 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests relating to east St. Mary Parish:
—William Lapoint, 30, of Federal Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:14 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for failure to appear for motion for judgement debtor rule. A deputy located Lapoint at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse in Franklin. Lapoint was released on a summons to appear in court March 17.
—Steven Williamson, 33, of Riverview Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 4:47 p.m. Thursday on the charges of stop lamps required, possession of marijuana, second offense and no insurance.
A deputy patrolling Baldwin observed a vehicle traveling on La. 182 with a brake light that was not functioning. The deputy made a traffic stop on Main Street and spoke with the driver who was identified as Williamson.
The deputy found that Williamson was driving the vehicle without insurance. The deputy received consent to search the pick-up truck and found two partially burnt marijuana cigarettes. Williamson was jailed with no bail set.
—Anna V. Concienne, 33, of Clements Street in Patterson, was arrested at 8:37 a.m. Thursday on a warrant charging her with criminal trespass and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.
—Tessa Verret, 18, of Clements Street in Patterson, was arrested at 8:37 a.m. Thursday on a warrant charging her with disturbing the peace fighting and criminal trespass.
A deputy located Concienne and Verret at their residence on the warrants. The warrant for Concienne was issued following an investigation into a report of an unauthorized entry of a home in Ricohoc.
The deputy assigned to investigate the incident found evidence that Concienne entered onto private property and went into a home without the resident’s permission. The warrant for Verret was obtained following a separate investigation into a report of a battery that took place off Zenor Road in Patterson.
The deputy found evidence that Verret entered onto property without the owner’s permission and took part in a fight involving several other people. Another suspect in the case, Shauna Kidder, 44, of Berwick, was arrested Dec. 1 on the charges of disturbing the peace fighting and criminal trespass. This investigation is ongoing.
Concienne and Verret were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail is set for Concienne. Verret was released on a summons to appear in court May 10.
—John Alcina Jr., 32, of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue in Patterson, was arrested at 4:27 a.m. Friday on a warrant for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of drug court. A deputy located Alcina at his home on the warrants and transported him to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail is set at $200,000.
Morgan City Police Chief James Blair reported the following arrests:
—Marjorie R. Ruffin, 27, of Oneal Chub Street in Franklin, was arrested at 10:53 a.m. Thursday on warrants for failure to appear on the charges of possession of marijuana and disturbing the peace by fighting and warrants charging him with contempt of court and probation violation.
Ruffin was transported from Tallulah to the Morgan City Police Department on several city court warrants. Ruffin was jailed.
—Naomi Courvile, 39, of Bush Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:53 a.m. Thursday on the charge of driving under suspension.
An officer responded to the area of Federal Avenue and Willow Street in regard to a minor vehicle crash. During a traffic investigation, Courville was identified as the driver of one of the vehicles involved. Courville was found to have a suspended driver’s license. Courville was jailed.
—Kevin P. Thompson, 62, of Front Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:36 p.m. Thursday on the charges of speeding 29 mph in a 15 mph school zone and driving under suspension.
A patrolling officer observed a vehicle speeding on Marguerite Street near Eighth Street and stopped the vehicle. The driver, Thompson, had a suspended driver’s license. Thompson was jailed.
—Brandon J. LaHoste, 31, of Sycamore Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:50 p.m. Thursday on a warrant charging him with two counts of hit and run and a warrant charging him with careless operation of a motor vehicle.
LaHoste turned himself in at the police department on warrants stemming from an investigation into an incident reported earlier that day where was involved in a hit and run.
The alleged incident took place in the area of Sycamore and Fig streets. Witnesses stated a vehicle driven by LaHoste stuck a mail box and a street sign, and LaHoste left the scene. LaHoste was jailed.
Jeremie A. Hanks, 39, of Brownell Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:21 p.m. Thursday on the charges of domestic abuse child endangerment, introduction of contraband into a penal institute and possession of Suboxone.
Officers responded to a home on Brownell Street in regard to a domestic disturbance. Police arrived and spoke with a woman who appeared to be upset and had physical signs that she may have been the victim of a battery. The woman told police that she and Hanks were involved in an argument when Hanks committed a battery on her and fled the area.
Police found evidence of the alleged battery and that incident had taken place while in the presence of a child less than 1 year old. Police received a description of Hanks and located him in the area moments later. Hanks was transported to jail, and officers located suspected Suboxone on him during a more thorough search.
—Christopher J. Jenkins, 35, of Seventh Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:25 a.m. Friday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of resisting an officer. Officers located Jenkins in the area of Mallard Street where he was arrested on a city court warrant. Jenkins was jailed.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrests:
—Jane Landry, 47, of Francis Street in Berwick, was arrested at 8 p.m. Thursday on the charge of possession of marijuana. Landry posted $2,000 bail.
—Chase Gugliotta, 18, of Francis Street in Berwick, was arrested at 8 p.m. Thursday on the charge of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Gugliotta’s bail was set at $3,500.
At about 7 p.m. Thursday, police conducted a search warrant at a home in the 3800 block of Francis Street in Berwick. Police had received information during the past few months of drug activity allegedly occurring at the home. Investigators located a small amount of marijuana in the home and various items of paraphernalia, Richard said.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrest:
—Mark Anthony Smith, 52, of Myrtle Street in Patterson, was arrested at 11:42 p.m. Thursday on the charges of possession of cocaine second offense, possession of marijuana second offense and possession of drug paraphernalia. No bail is set.
