Man arrested in Morgan City for Assumption home invasion, burglary

A 21-year-old Patterson man was caught Wednesday in Morgan City and booked on home invasion and burglary charges stemming from an incident in Assumption Parish, Morgan City Police Chief James Blair said in a news release.
—Chaz M. Rebardi, 21, of Mill Road in Patterson, was arrested at 11:23 p.m. Wednesday on Assumption Parish warrants charging him with aggravated burglary and home invasion.
Rebardi was located on Walnut Drive, and police did a local warrants check on him. Rebardi was found to be wanted on warrants with the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office. Rebardi was jailed.
Blair reported the following arrests:
—Wesley J. Stevens, 52, of Star Route in Franklin, was arrested at 4:06 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant charging him with probation violation.
Stevens was transported from the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center to the Morgan City Police Department for an active warrant held for the City Court of Morgan City. Stevens was booked and incarcerated.
—Tieyon K. Martinez, 30, of 11th Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7 p.m. Wednesday on warrants charging him with two counts of probation violation and contempt of court.
Martinez turned himself in to the Morgan City Police Department for active warrants and was jailed.
—Tyrel A. Whitehead, 18, of Lawrence Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:57 a.m. today on the charges of possession of marijuana first offense, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.
An officer on patrol in the area of Sixth and Aucoin streets observed an individual walking in the area. The officer stopped to speak with the individual, identified as Whitehead. Whitehead gave the officer consent to pat him down, and the officer located suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Whitehead fled from the officer but was captured a short time later. Whitehead was jailed.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 40 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Anthony Madison, 30, of the 600 block of Robert Street in Franklin, was arrested at 10:56 p.m. Wednesday on the charges of driving lamps required (no headlight) and driving under suspension.
A deputy patrolling Amelia observed a vehicle traveling on Lake Palourde Road with only one working headlight and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver, Madison, and learned that he was operating the vehicle with a suspended license. Madison was released on a summons to appear in court Sept. 15.
—Joshua D. Dimaggio, 18, of the 1800 block of Rose Street in Berwick, was arrested at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday on the charge of simple assault.
A deputy responded to a complaint of a battery that occurred at a home in Bayou Vista. During the investigation, the deputy collected evidence that Dimaggio verbally and physically threatened a man during an altercation between the two. Dimaggio was booked into parish jail and later released on $250 bail
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
