Man charged with indecent behavior with juvenile
A 38-year-old Morgan City man was arrested Sunday on the charge of indecent behavior with a juvenile after he allegedly exposed himself to a minor, Morgan City Police Chief James Blair said in a news release.
—Tramayne A. Skinner, 38, of Railroad Avenue in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:33 p.m. Sunday on the charge of indecent behavior with a juvenile.
Officers were dispatched to a home on 11th Street in regard to an individual having inappropriate contact with a juvenile. When officers arrived, witnesses stated that Skinner had allegedly exposed himself to a juvenile, Blair said.
Skinner was located at his home on Railroad Avenue and placed under arrest. Skinner is being held on $500,000 bail.
Blair reported the following arrests:
—Johnny D. Francois, 25, of Fifth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:15 p.m. Saturday on warrants charging him with domestic abuse battery by strangulation and aggravated assault with a knife.
Francois was located in the area of Fifth and Kentucky streets and placed under arrest for active warrants for the Morgan City Police Department.
The warrants stem from a June incident in which Francois allegedly strangled an individual at a home on Leona Street and threatened that person with a knife, Blair said. Francois was jailed.
—Donald R. Davis, 27, of Diane Street in Patterson, was arrested at 6:04 p.m. Friday on the charges of disturbing the peace and aggravated assault.
Officers were dispatched to a local business on La. 70 in regard to a disturbance. When officers arrived, witnesses stated that Davis had an object in his hand and was threatening to harm another individual, Blair said. Officers were able to locate Davis, and he was jailed.
—Melanie Rink, 41, of First Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3 p.m. Monday on St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office warrants charging her with forgery and theft.
Rink was already being housed in the Morgan City Police Department Jail. She was booked on sheriff’s office warrants and remains incarcerated.
—Benjamin T. Wever, 39, of Ninth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 5:19 p.m. Monday on the charge of appearing in an intoxicated condition.
Officers responded to a residence on Arizona Street in regard to an intoxicated person near a home in the area. The officer located Wever lying in the grass near a vehicle. According to reports, the officer made contact with Wever who appeared to be in an intoxicated condition, Blair said. Wever was jailed.
—Kaylynn R. Driskill, 28, of Terrebonne Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:37 p.m. Monday on the charges of improper license plate lighting, no proof of vehicle insurance and switched license plate.
An officer patrolling the area of Sixth Street observed a vehicle with improper lighting and conducted a traffic stop.
The driver, identified as Driskill, didn’t have proof of vehicle insurance. The license plate on the vehicle had also been switched, Blair said. Driskill was jailed.
—Ciara V. Williams, 27, of Third Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:16 p.m. Monday on the charge of contempt of court.
Williams was transported from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center to the Morgan City Police Department Jail in regard to an active warrant held by the Sixth Ward City Court. Williams was jailed.
—Travis T. Singleton, 30, of Leona Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:29 p.m. Friday on the charge of probation violation. Singleton was already incarcerated in the Morgan City jail when a warrant for the Sixth Ward City Court was discovered. Singleton remains incarcerated.
—Gregory Holder, 27, of Belanger Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:04 p.m. Friday on the charges of distribution of Schedule II cocaine, possession of a Legend Drug Gabapentin, driving under suspension, driving on divided roadway the wrong way, violation of uniform controlled dangerous substance law and transactions involving proceeds from controlled dangerous substance activity.
—Bethany N. Mecom, 23, of Tiffany Street in Patterson, was arrested at 10:04 p.m. Friday on the charges of possession of Schedule II cocaine and violation of uniform controlled dangerous substance law.
The Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division was in the area of Bowman Street and Federal Avenue when officers observed a vehicle disregard a barricade and travel down the wrong way of the roadway. A traffic stop was conducted.
Holder was found to have a suspended driver’s license. Officers also observed the passenger of the vehicle, Mecom, and she was asked to exit the vehicle. According to reports, while speaking to officers, Holder began to try and reach under the passenger seat, Blair said. Officers located suspected cocaine in that area of the vehicle. Officers also found $320 cash in the vehicle. Both Holder and Mecom were jailed.
—Aldwin R. Cox, 50, of Union Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:26 a.m. Saturday on the charge of disturbing the peace intoxicated.
Officers were dispatched to a residence on Fifth Street in regard to a disturbance. Witnesses told officers that Cox was outside the residence yelling and using profanities. Officers were able to locate Cox, who appeared to be intoxicated, Blair said. Cox was jailed.
—Jonathan E. Thomas, 22, of Enterprise Street in Patterson, was arrested at 1:16 p.m. Saturday on the charges of expired motor vehicle inspection sticker, texting while driving and possession of drug paraphernalia second offense.
A patrol officer in the area of Brashear and Federal avenues stopped for a red traffic signal observed a vehicle also stopped at the traffic light and noticed the driver appeared to be texting, Blair said.
According to reports, when the traffic light changed to green, the vehicle failed to proceed. The officer conducted a traffic stop and the driver, Thomas, admitted to texting, Blair said.
During the investigation, Thomas gave consent for officers to search the vehicle and officers found items used to smoke illegal narcotics. Thomas was jailed.
—Carla J. Johnson, 54, of Fifth Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:57 p.m. Saturday on the charge of domestic abuse battery second offense.
Officers were dispatched to a residence on Fifth Street in regard to a domestic disturbance. When officers arrived, the victim stated that her boyfriend, Johnson, committed a battery on her, Blair said. Officers observed marks and cuts on the victim.
The victim needed medical attention and was transported to a hospital, Blair said. Officers were able to locate Johnson in the residence and he was placed under arrest. Johnson was jailed.
—Nicole B. Gilmore, 40, of Third Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:30 p.m. Saturday on a warrant for failure to pay fines.
Gilmore, located in the area of Vine Drive, was determined to have an active warrant for the Sixth Ward City Court. Gilmore was jailed.
—Elizabeth A. Singleton, 22, of Halsey Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 11:54 p.m. Saturday on the charges of driving under suspension, license plate light required and on a St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant for failure to appear.
A patrol officer in the area of Duke Street and Federal Avenue observed a vehicle with improper lighting. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Singleton, was found to have a suspended driver’s license. Singleton was jailed.
—Heather L. Guillory, 35, of Morgan City, was arrested at 4:25 a.m. Sunday on a Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant charging her with contempt of court.
Guillory, located on Youngs Road, was determined to have an active warrant for the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office. Guillory was jailed.
—Norman Carter, 51, of La. 182 in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:30 p.m. Sunday on the charge of appearing in public intoxicated.
A patrol officer located Carter in the area of Myrtle Street and La. 182 yelling at passing motorists. The officer made contact with Carter, who appeared intoxicated. Carter was jailed.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Clifton J. Vining Jr., 45, of the 100 block of Southeast Boulevard in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 7:44 a.m. Monday on the charges of simple battery and criminal damage to property.
A deputy responded to a complaint of a battery that occurred on the corner of Southeast Boulevard and La. 182 in Bayou Vista. During the investigation, the deputy learned that Vining struck another man in the face, Hebert said. Vining also damaged the victim’s cell phone. Bail is set at $1,000.
—Christopher Crochet, 25, of the 1000 block of Belleview Street in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 7:15 p.m. Monday on the charges of following too closely, possession of Schedule I drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
—Anthony Harris, 19, of the 200 block of West Side Park Lane in Amelia, was arrested at 7:15 p.m. Monday on the charge of possession of Schedule I drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
—Samoa Scott, 19, of the 700 block of Hilda Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:15 p.m. Monday on the charge of possession of Schedule I drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A deputy observed a car following another vehicle too closely on U.S. 90 in Morgan City and conducted a traffic stop on Ninth Street.
The deputy made contact with the driver, Crochet, and two passengers, Harris and Scott. While speaking with the occupants, the deputy received consent to search the car and located a small plastic bag containing marijuana inside the vehicle, Hebert said. The deputy also found a pack of small cigars inside the car. Following the investigation, Crochet and Scott were released on summonses to appear in court Jan 13. Harris was jailed with bail set at $3,500.
—Heather Rankins, 29, of the 1000 block of Grace Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:08 a.m. Saturday on the charges of speeding and driving under suspension. A deputy patrolling the Franklin area found a vehicle to be speeding on Irish Bend Road.
The deputy initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Rankins. The deputy learned Rankins had a suspended driver’s license. Rankins was released on a summons to appear in court Jan. 13.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the following arrest relating to east St. Mary Parish:
—Ciara Williams, 27, of Third Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 7:57 p.m. Saturday on the charges of obstruction of justice, a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of speeding and no driver’s license for Jeanerette City Court, and a warrant for contempt of court for Morgan City Court.
Williams was jailed. No bail is set.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
