Man charged with terrorizing former employer

A 47-year-old Morgan City man was charged Thursday with terrorizing after making threatening statements at his former place of employment, Morgan City Police Chief James Blair said in a news release.
—Richard A. Tharp, 37, of Marshall Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 1:04 p.m. Thursday on the charge of terrorizing.
Officers responded to a business on Front Street in regards to a former employee making threats. Officers arrived and were told by management that Tharp, who was recently terminated, had come to the business making threatening statements and left, Blair said. Officers were able to locate Tharp at his home, and he was jailed.
Morgan City Police Chief James Blair reported the following arrests:
—Shelia S. Blanchard, 48, of Fairview Street in Morgan City, at 2:53 p.m. Thursday on the charges of theft of goods and possession of Alprazolam.
Officers responded to a business on Seventh Street in regards to a shoplifter in the store. Management told police that Blanchard had concealed items in her purse without paying for them. The items totaled $33.20. Officers also located in Blanchard’s purse pills identified as Alprazolam. Blanchard was jailed.
—Jonathan R. Beadle, 25, of Charlotte Drive in Patterson, at 6:35 p.m. Thursday on a warrant charging him with simple battery.
Beadle was located in the City Court of Morgan City and placed under arrest for an active warrant. Beadle was jailed.
—Purcell A. Gros, 42, of Sixth Street in Morgan City, at 10:54 p.m. Thursday on St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office warrants for failure to appear and failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana.
Officers responded to a residence on Sixth Street in regards to an individual who had active warrants. Officers arrived and were told that Gros was in the home.
Gros held active warrants for the 16th Judicial District Court. Gros was located in one of the bedrooms and jailed.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 39 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Rickey Gable, 27, of the 300 block of Easy Street in Franklin, at 4:26 p.m. Thursday on the charge of possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain felonies.
—Sedrick Rudolph, 31, of the 400 block of Gum Point Lane in Franklin, at 4:01 p.m. Thursday on the charge of possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain felonies.
The K-9 unit conducting a traffic stop on U.S. 90 in Bayou Vista made contact with the driver as well as two passengers in the vehicle identified as Gable and Rudolph. The deputy received consent to search the vehicle and located a handgun that was found within reach of the two passengers. The deputy also found that both Gable and Rudolph are convicted felons. Both suspects were jailed with no bail set.
—Robin Thibodeaux, 58, of the 1200 block of Saturn Road in Bayou Vista, at 8:22 p.m. Thursday on the charge of violation of the parish leash law. A deputy responded to an animal complaint on Saturn Road. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Thibodeaux’s dog was running loose. Thibodeaux was released on a summons to appear in court July 25.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
