Morgan City man arrested for August vehicle theft

A 21-year-old Morgan City man was charged with theft of a motor vehicle stemming from an August 2016 incident, Morgan City Police Chief James Blair said in a news release.
—Cody Gibbs, 21, of Glenwood Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 5:25 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant charging him with theft of a motor vehicle and warrants for failure to appear on the charges of disturbing the peace and criminal damage to property.
Gibbs turned himself in to the Morgan City Police Department in regard to several arrest police and city court warrants. The police warrant was a result of an alleged motor vehicle theft reported Aug. 15, 2016. Gibbs was jailed.
Blair reported the following arrest:
—Jesse Blakeman, 23, of Cypress Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:01 a.m. Tuesday on warrants charging him with unauthorized use of a movable and hit and run.
Officers located Blakeman at a home on Cypress Street and arrested him on active arrest warrants. The warrants stem from an investigation Nov. 13, 2016, of alleged unauthorized use of a movable and hit and run. Blakeman was jailed.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 34 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrest in east St. Mary Parish:
—Cindy Brown, 54, of Bayou Black Drive in Houma, was arrested at 3:06 a.m. Wednesday on the charges of no motor vehicle insurance and stop sign violation. A deputy assigned to patrol Amelia observed a vehicle fail to stop at two stop signs on La. 182 and the frontage road. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver, identified as Brown. The deputy also found that Brown was operating the vehicle without insurance. Brown was released on a summons to appear in court April 5.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
